Authentic Texas Barbeque and Sausage from the oldest joint in the state! Southside Market & Barbeque was started in 1882 by one man selling meat door to door from the back of a wagon. Since 1968, the business has been owned and operated by three generations of the Bracewell family. Being the oldest barbeque joint in Texas, Southside now includes a down home restaurant serving the best that Texas barbeque has to offer, a full service fresh Meat Market for all of your premium meat needs, Elgin Hot Sausage Company which handles retail distribution to grocery stores all over Central Texas and Southside Processing which is their on-site full service meat processing plant where millions of pounds of the Original Elgin Sausage are produced every year. They also offer impressive catering packages for events ranging from tailgate parties to elaborate weddings. In the restaurant, you can order your barbeque by the pound or the by the plate. After your meal, be sure to stop by their ice cream counter for a hand dipped cone of Blue Bell
