Véronique's first Pilates Method experience was over 12 years ago to relieve back and posture problems when she worked at UCSF's Center of Excellence for Women's Health. Pilates had improved her posture and overall physical condition so much that she decided to enter Ellie Herman's Pilates teacher training program. Certified in 2004, Véronique began teaching in Paris and then in Brussels where she managed a studio and became a certified Pilates Teacher Trainer under Master Trainer Kelly McKinnon. Before founding Soulful Pilates, Véronique worked at UCSF's Mission Bay Physical Therapy Department where she gained practical knowledge by observing patients with various physical conditions. She also studied pilates-based physical rehabilitation with Lizz Roman. Véronique focuses on helping students build strength, gain freedom of movement through improved flexibility and balance, while keeping classes dynamic and challenging. She has enhanced her training by learning from renown bodywork experts like Eric Franklin and is also a Balanced Body University Pilates Instructor through this internationally recognized certification. Véronique expanded her knowledge through an intensive Pre and Post-Natal pilates training program with Stephanie Forster. By 2012, she became a certified CoreAlign instructor in all three levels and integrates this natural movement system into her private pilates instruction. Most recently, she completed the Pilates Sport Center Barre training. Véronique is very excited about offering a wide range of Pilates-based training programs to clients at the crossroad of the upper Haight/Ashbury/Cole Valley neighborhoods and appreciates the contining support she has received from the community.
Diana was first introduced to Pilates as a modern dance student at San Francisco State University. After realizing how beneficial the method was for maintaining core stability and spinal alignment, she carried the practice with her into the world of professional modern dance. She was certified as a Pilates trainer through the Integrated Teacher Training Program in San Francisco in 2008 and continues to teach at various studios in the city. When not teaching, Diana can be seen performing, reading, enjoying nature and studying anatomy. She is grateful for the ability to share her love of movement and well being with her students.
Like many Pilates trainers, Jen is a dancer, but that's not what brought her to this discipline. An athlete since childhood, poor running mechanics led to a painful lower back injury that only Pilates has helped her manage. In 2010, after ten years in a successful marketing career, Jen realized that she wanted to help others and became an ITT certified Pilates Instructor. Because of her injury, she has a great respect for the power of this method, and wants everyone - healthy or injured - to have that experience. Her absolute favorite moment with a client is when it 'clicks,' and he/she feels and understands movement instinctually - translating that movement everywhere else in life. Jen believes that fitness and well-being, come in many different forms, but Pilates helps you do everything better.
As a professional contemporary ballet/modern dancer with over twenty-three years of technique, performance and teaching under her belt, Amber Zuckswert turned to the Pilates method to stay in peak mind/body condition and injury free. She suffered stress fractures in her low back as a young dancer and pilates was the only technique that eliminated the pain completely. Since graduating from the rigorous Ron Fletcher Program of Study, she has worked with a vast array of clients from professional dancers and athletes, to pre and post natal, to rehab. Amber specializes in back care, pre and post natal, Fletcher Towel, Floor, and Barre techniques. Amber brings a creative, fun and fluid approach to clients. Focus on breath, precision, and mindfulness, infuse each session. Her forte is building a balanced, toned and pain free body while challenging the mind with breath and body coordination, dynamics, balance and grace. Amber "loves" all movement and continues studies in the Pilates method, Gyrotonic®, Somatics, Anusara and Ashtanga yoga, meditation and all forms of dance.
