If your dancer wishes to participate in competitive groups, then she will be required to take dance classes beginning the month of June. *It is NOT mandatory for your child to being at the non-competitive level: they may begin with summer lessons on Tuesdays followed by try-outs for the competitive team. If they do not make the competitive team, they have the option of dancing non-competitively.
Non-Competitive
These classes are offered for girls or boys ages 3 & up. This type of class is a beginner level and takes on challenges that will later move your child up to the competitive level if they so choose. They will be learning basic technique and different routines that will be performed at the spring recital, mid season basketball tournaments, mall performances, etc. Classes begin in the summer and go throughout the year until the spring recital in may.
Competitive
These classes are more advanced and involve try-outs to be placed in certain levels or age groups. Once the classes have been chosen, each group will go through more advanced techniques to determine what types of dances the classes will be doing. Routines will be taught during the summer and then perfected throughout the year until competition. Competition season begins in January and then goes on throughout the spring. We usually attend approximately 2-4 competitions in the st. Louis area, as well as a few local competitions put on by local studios. Every competition is mandatory for each member of the competitive team.

About Us
Sloan's Gymnastics School is the oldest gymnastics school in Southern Illinois. We have 10 coaches which includes 3 dance teachers . Ages 2-18 boys and girls. Open Gym Pizza party every Friday night during the school year
