This class is for anyone new to yoga, regardless of age or condition. We strive do yoga poses with precise anatomical alignment, which increases the benefits and lessens the risk of injuries. This process is aided by using props like blankets, straps and blocks, which are provided. We work progressively through carefully selected poses and actions which help new students but also anyone who has sustained an injury or who has a physical limitation.
Simply Align
This class is for students who are ready to deepen their practice. The actions are more subtle and poses are held for longer periods of time than in Simply Basic classes, thus cultivating and enhancing the meditative quality. Students learn how to utilize props and to focus on inversions appropriate to their individual conditions. This class focuses on refining alignment in a fun, supportive manner, and includes some chanting and meditation, as well as an introduction to bandhas, yoga philosophy and the energetic effects of asana.
Simply Align with Flow 1
At Simplyoga Institute, flow means more than just moving continuously, using the breath, from one pose to another - though we do some of that in this class. The central purpose here is to focus on tuning into the natural flow of prana in the body, and learning to follow it. We then use the subtle awareness of prana to deepen our alignment, both anatomically and energetically. This class is for intermediate students, who have basic awareness of alignment.
Simply Align with Flow 2-3

The central purpose here is to focus on tuning into and following the natural flow of prana in the body. This class is for more advanced students who wish to deepen their explorations of alignment, bandhas, prana vayus and yoga philosophy as well as the energetic effects of asana, pranayama, etc.
Simply Gentle
This class is ideal for new students, those recovering from illness, or for students of any level seeking stress relief. It is calm and slow-paced, uses props as needed to allow for proper alignment with minimal effort.
Simply Back Care
A therapeutic class designed for students suffering from low back pain, sciatica and other conditions. The specific practices used will depend on the individuals who attend, but in general we focus on simple poses done with good alignment, gradually progressing as symptoms improve. There is also an educational component in this class including explanations of anatomy, the proper functioning of the spine, and healthy habits to maintain spinal health.
Simply Restorative and Pranayama
This class utilizes props in order to place students in deep, relaxing poses for long periods of time. As the name indicates, its effect are restorative and rejuvenating. Recommended for when one is tired, stressed out, and suffering from illness, it also can be a vital element of the practices of even highly seasoned yogis. Using the deep relaxation we cultivate in this class, we then segue into a variety of yogic breathing techniques, and/or the yogic guided relaxation practice Yoga Nidra.
Simply Pre-natal
This class is aimed at women in all three trimesters of pregnancy, each of which requires different practices. It is designed to help expectant mothers to cope with their rapidly changing bodies, and deal with a variety of uncomfortable symptoms from edema to low back pain. Most importantly, this class prepares students for childbirth. In particular, we focus on yogic breathing, which our students report fundamentally improve the birthing experience.
Simply Post-natal ("Mommy and Me")
This class is designed to help women after they've had their babies and focuses on specific practices they need to recover from pregnancy and childbirth. Mothers can bring their babies to class and make them part of the practice. If their babies cry or need to be fed or changed, new Moms learn ways to remain in a yogic posture - and a yogic state-of-mind -while performing those activities.
Simply Self-practice
This is a time when Simpyoga director Eliana Moreira practices silently in the presence of her students. Those in the room are welcome to practice with her, either by following her lead - or following their hearts in the poses of their choice. The idea is to inspire and support students in their own journeys, as they begin to develop and cultivate their own practices.
