It all started in 1978 in a small log building on a dirt road across from the tiny McCall Airport by Rod and Melinda Nielsen with the help of many good friends. It was a off-the-beaten path location offering people a chance to escape the crowds of downtown. Since then it has grown with McCall, changing with additions to the building and the many new menus too!
The original menu introduced locals to Mexican fare from Carne Asada to Tamales. The new restaurant peaked interest in Mexican food with many people saying they had never been out of Valley County and, indeed, never had anything quite like it. It was a great challenge, but Melinda, who grew up in a family of 13, equally loves cooking and people. Blending the home-style Mexican with vegetarian and fresh ingredients helped the menu grow tastefully over the years. Now with the addition of fish, steaks, and ribs for those not in the mood for Mexican, there is just about something for everyone.
