In this 5-week course, we will take on the practice of pranayama: from its foundation in simple asanas to prepare the lungs and the mind, moving toward the basic supine pranayamas, and finally building up to seated pranayamas. This course will build slowly and systematically to welcome you to this profound practice, and help you move forward in your own practice of pranayama and meditation. Requirement: Minimum of 3 months of Iyengar Yoga. $65 for five classes; $60 for repeating/continuing students. (no drop-ins.)
For students with at least 1 year of regular Iyengar Yoga experience. This level assumes a proficiency of basic yoga poses, including the Sanskrit names of poses as well as a home practice. Students at this level will integrate classical intermediate poses, inversions and variations, backward extending poses as well as philosophy. Drop-ins are welcome.

For students who have less than 3 months of Iyengar Yoga. The foundation of the Iyengar Yoga method is taught through standing, forward-extending, revolving and backward-extending poses. Shoulderstand and other basic inverted poses will be introduced. Students build their strength and stamina by expanding the repertoire and understanding of yoga poses. Drop-ins are welcome.
