Water hazards come into play on 4 holes with out of bounds opportunities present on 10 of the 18 holes. The golf course runs along the base of the San Gabriels amongst the native California Oak and other natural vegetation. Deer, bobcat, and coyote often frequent the golf course as this is testament to the true rural back to nature setting of the golf course. San Dimas Canyon Golf Course's fairways are tree lined and require a well placed tee ball to have a shot to the green, where the real challenge lies. The greens are gently undulated and the hillside slope definitely influences the roll of the ball.
