former big-city hair stylist Chad Malm traded life in the fast lane for the southern charms of Tampa Bay and a chance to spend more time with his young family when he opened Salon Jack in 2004.
Located in Tampa's quaint Palma Ceia district, Salon Jack - sleek and sophisticated in cool whites and clean lines enhanced by oversized mirrors - caters to south Tampa clientele and longtime customers from as far away as San Francisco.
Malm apprenticed at Manhattan's famed Bumble and Bumble salon as an educator, traveling extensively for fashion shoots and magazine photo sessions while learning the latest cutting and styling trends. Stints at Bumble and Bumble led to an opportunity on the West coast, where the California native opened up Claude Nine at 9 Claude Lane in San Francisco's fashionable French Quarter.
Malm's sheers have worked their magic on a star-studded list of celebrities and models, earning a coveted following among fashion editors at such magazines as Cosmopolitan, Allure, Harpers Bazaar, and Modern Bride which have featured his work. His styles have also been featured in countless trade publications and city specific trend magazines. The soft-spoken stylist has appeared on national television in makeover segments for TLC and Good Morning America. He draws inspiration by pouring over European fashion and design magazines and the latest runway collections from designers like Prada and Betsey Johnson.
