Sparkling
Sparkling Pointe, Brut, North Fork of Long Island 2014
$60.00
This lovely bubbly made in the traditional method of Champagne comes from 40 sustainably farmed acres on our very own North Fork. Using the three classic grapes of Champagne (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir & Pinot Meunieur), winemaker Gilles Martin sculpts an exceptional wine, reflecting the warmth of the vintage while retaining its finesse. Aromas of white peaches, golden and red apples, tangerines, orange blossoms and meadow flowers with hints of brioche greet in the nose and echo on the palate. There's ample concentration and length, a fine delicate effervescence, and a mouthwatering mineral driven finish
White
Jacquère, Charles Gonnet, Chignin, Savoie, France 2017
This is my new summer white. An amazing value from the French Alps, it bursts from the glass with a bedazzling array of fruit and floral aromas, from apples and pears to pineapple, mint, lavender and citrus. Clean and light-bodied without any oak, it is as fresh and vibrant as a wine can get. The squeaky clean finish will have you salivating for more

Red
Poggio delle Baccanti, Penisola Sorrentina, Campania, Italy 2015
$50.00
The aromas and flavors of Positano and the Amalfi Coast await you in this bottle of wine. The Sorrentine Peninsula lies alongside these famous getaways, and the indigenous grapes harvested from here produce a flavor that is pure rustic Southern Italian. Notes of dark and bright red fruits, smoke and earth echo from the bouquet to the palate. It is medium-bodied with a soft, fleshy mouthfeel, attractive balance and a pure authentic finish. A blend of Piedirosso, Sciascinoso, Castagnara, Aglianico and "others"
Château Haut Brisson, Saint-émilion, Bordeaux, France 2010
This classy Bordeaux from the great 2010 vintage is in an excellent drinking window right now. It coyly reveals aromas and flavors of dark fleshy fruits from the plum, cassis and bing cherry end of the cornucopia, with dried flowers, spice box, and moist earth after a summer rain. The seemingly modest frame is actually quite layered, with a mouthfeel that is savory, supple and alluring with a gentle dry stately finish. A sophisticated hedonist…

Paul Jaboulet aîné, "Domaine de Thalabert," Crozes-hermitage 2015
The first vineyard owned by Paul Jaboulet in 1834 also holds the distinction as the oldest in Crozes-Hermitage. Biodynamically farmed, the 60-80 year old vines produce a wine with an impressive deep violet appearance in the glass and a bouquet of savory dark fruits, black olives and damp earth. Full bodied with a rich, layered texture, the aromas echo on the palate with waves of dark cherries, blueberries, anise, black pepper, dried flowers and crushed stones. The finish is long with fine tannins bringing the festivities to a satisfying close

From one of Japan's smallest artisanal breweries using the highest quality rice, this sake offers aromas of bright honeyed Asian pear, pineapple & banana with soft hints of lemongrass & anise. Palate is soft & silky, dry yet fruity with excellent depth & balance. Finishes with a long, refreshing fade with a hint of coconut milk
This delicate, dry white cultivated mostly in Switzerland, Alsace and Western Germany is among the world's oldest known wine grapes. An inviting bouquet of tree fruits (apples & peaches), almonds and faint flowers echoes on the palate. In the mouth it's soft and smooth, with low acidity and a pleasant, endearing flavor
Jacquère, Pierre Boniface, Les Rocailles, "Apremont," Savoie, France 2012
$40.00
Delicate & light-bodied, offering honeydew melon & floral aromas. On the palate, the wine is dry & refreshing with bright notes of peach, melon & lime. The mouthwatering finish is clean and pure as the Alpine mountains from where these grapes were grown
Tournon, "Mathilda," by Chapoutier, Victoria, Australia 2013
$40.00
Marsanne & Viognier. Floral, fleshy melon & pineapple notes in the nose lead to a lush viscous body in the mouth. Notes of bitter pineapple rind cut the ripe fruit on the finish creating a balance that makes me want to continue taking another sip. There's a lot of tang, with aromas of candied lemon & tangerine with a savory mouthfeel
Jacquère, Charles Gonnet, Chignin, Savoie, France 2017
$45.00
This is my new summer white. An amazing value from the French Alps, it bursts from the glass with a bedazzling array of fruit and floral aromas, from apples and pears to pineapple, mint, lavender and citrus. Stift Klosterneuburg, "Gemischter Satz," Vienna, Austria 2014
$50.00
This traditional Viennese field blend is mostly Riesling, Pinot Blanc & Grüner Veltliner with upwards of 8 additional grape varietals. The bouquet is clean, fresh and floral, with citrus and hints of spice. In the mouth there's ample texture and concentration, with bright, lively lemon, grapefruit, peach & green apple notes. Complexity is medium-plus and the electric zippy finish is mouthwatering and satisfying
Heidi Schröck, "Ried Vogelsang," Neusiedlersee-Huggeland, Austria 2009
$50.00
Welschriesling, Weissburgunder & Gelber Muskateller. A richly complex tapestry of honeysuckle, ripe apples & apricots, candied ginger, lemon custard and heady, malty notes. There's some weight and creaminess to the texture with the finish balancing things nicely. An exotic, original must-try for the adventurous pleasure seeker
Caymus, "Conundrum," California, 2015
$55.00
Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Canelli, Chardonnay, Semillon & Viognier. Powerful & full-bodied with aromas of honeysuckle, green apples, lychee, tangerines, lavender, ripe peaches & Asian spices. On the palate the complex mix of flavors include apricots, melons, pears & vanilla with floral & spice notes framing the creamy texture & lasting finish
Viura, R. López de Heredia, "Viña Gravonia," Crianza, Rioja, Spain 2006
$60.00
From one of the world's iconic, traditional wineries, this is 100% Viura aged 4 years in oak barrels, bottled in 2011 and held 5 years at the winery before being released to the public. The nose offers notes of golden apples, beeswax, honey & herbs. The palate is bright and fresh with nice weight, viscosity and complexity. It is dry with notes of tree fruit, almonds & cheese. A fascinating drink, it has developed, mature aromas and flavors while retaining its freshness
Domaine Badoz, "Tradition," Côtes-du-Jura, France 2009
$60.00
Chardonnay & Savagnin. This traditional wine from the French Alps near the Swiss border is made in a style unfamiliar to most Americans, but has become the rage among sommeliers and adventure seekers looking to try something new. The wine spends 4 years aging in barrel and the result is a bouquet that is super nutty & oxidized with notes of fresh sea air. In the mouth, the flavors are more mellow and the wine is amazingly dry and clean, with notes of tree fruit, bitter almonds, and fresh, mouthwatering acidity. Perfect with raw clams, oysters & lump crab
Grüner Veltliner, Schloss Gobelsburg, "Renner," Kamptal, Austria 2012
$80.00
With a history dating back to 1074, this oldest winery in the Kamptal creates wines of stunning precision, beauty and clarity. This exclusive single vineyard bottling offers ripe notes of peach, pear, apricot, lime, and hints of cracked black pepper. There are lovely floral and exotic spice notes balanced by an amazing cut of crushed stone minerality. The finish is long, hedonistic and satisfying on so many levels
Gewürztraminer, Zind-Humbrecht, "Herrenweg de Turckheim," Alsace 2005
$100.00
This single vineyard wine really shows its pedigree, with deep notes of lychee, rose petal, grapefruit, white peaches, white pepper & subtle spices. There's lovely purity and ripeness of fruit with finesse & balance
Lafaurie-Peyraguey, Bordeaux 2014
$120.00
Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc & Muscadelle. An absolute stunner, with clean, vibrant tangy fruit exploding from the glass. Waves of creamy citrus curd caress the palate, backed by hints of orange blossom and spice that carry the bright flavors through a long mouthwatering finish
Château Mouton Rothschild, "Aile d'Argent," Bordeaux 2010
$160.00
Sauvignon Blanc & Semillon. From the iconic, world famous Mouton Rothschild, the wine greets in the glass with a scintillating pale yellow hue. The very fresh bouquet offers tropical notes of pineapple and lychee, with fresh peach, apricot and grapefruit. The palate is full and layered with floral acacia, citrus, golden apples, hints of smoke and minerals. The finish is long and balanced
In great vintages, the wines of Moulin Touchais can age 50-100 years, and at 45+, this slice of history is maturing but still remarkably youthful. Deep orange-gold in color, there is an attractive and complex nose of baked apples, caramel, honeycomb, candied citrus and spice. There's a loveliness to the texture, as it coats the mouth with a great concentration of flavors. It has been preserved by its lively acidity, which gives wonderful length to the finish. A wine every serious wine drinker should experience at least once
Rothmann’s continued doing business as usual through throughout the prohibition Era and now, the three sons Paul, Peter and Charles Jr. began taking a more active role in running the restaurant. Paul was the main host for many years, greeting each guest as they entered, just as his Father had done before him. Paul was an active member of several clubs and became very well known to many socialites, politicians, and entertainers who frequented the restaurant. Most of the biggest names in entertainment dined there at one time or another, including Elizabeth Taylor, bob Hope and Richard Burton.
