This walking tour takes visitors on the important historic sites related to Louis Armstrong's life in New Orleans. The tour begins in the French Quarter and includes historic sites where he stayed and played as an adult, especially his 1965 homecoming. It continues to the Storyville/Basin Street area where he worked as a youth, and then leads to the "back o' town" section of the Central Business District where he grew up. The 400 block of South Rampart and the City Hall/Duncan Plaza are the special focus here. The tour ends up at the historic Little Gem Saloon, where one can catch a live jazz performance and get a drink and a bite to eat at happy hour. Who knows, maybe you'll even hear a little Louis music.
