Our Hatha Yoga classes offer a traditional practice at a moderate pace. Emphasis is placed on gaining proficiency in poses by strengthening exercises and deep stretching. Careful attention is given to alignment and finding proper variations so students of all levels can progress – achieving balance, stability and ease. Hatha Yoga also teaches breathing techniques from proper diaphragmatic breath to more advanced pranayama. Working with the breath enlivens energy and soothes the nervous system. Each class also includes a guided relaxation and meditation training.

Wisdom Warriors is a fabulous new yoga class designed especially for dedicated practitioners over 50 who know what it means to remain youthful through the practice of yoga and other healthy lifestyle activities. Now don't get fooled when you hear 'over 50', as this class is for experienced practitioners who are adept at yoga. Wisdom Warriors is the perfect elixir of youth for anyone who wants to preserve their high level of health, flexibility and strength throughout their lifetime. It is intended to help people keep their practice strong and vital. We slow it down to keep it strong while continuing to put forth the effort to understand the changes in our bodies as we go. Rather than saying "I am too old for this", we ask "what needs to be adjusted, to get stronger, longer or softer so this pose feels right for me"? A full range of poses are always available including standing poses, backbends, hip openers, forward bends, inversions and arm balances. It is not suitable for beginners. Class is physically and spiritually inspiring, has a strong therapeutic focus, and aims to foster community among our 50+ yogis. If you have been practicing yoga for a while and long to connect with others who will help you stay healthy and fit, this is a wonderful opportunity for you to strengthen your body, mind and friendships. We believe that old dogs can learn new tricks, however with the wisdom that age inspires, our approach softens.

She prepared her body and mind as best she could getting advice, encouragement, and support along the way. And now, after having experienced pregnancy, labor, delivery, and months of awakening at all hours, Aphinya is ready to share the practice she developed during and after her pregnancy with all the moms-to-be out there. She had unwavering faith in her practice because she felt she had one of the best teachers and is now ready to pass this on to you. This class is designed to prepare your body, mind, and emotions for your upcoming labor as well as any anxiety you may encounter along the way. Science has proven that meditating restructures our brain and can train it to concentrate, feel greater compassion, cope with stress, and more. In this class, you will discover that meditation also has benefits far beyond what science has revealed. There are changes both subtle and profound understood only through direct experience. All you need to start is the willingness to sit and be with your own body, breath, and mind. This class teaches you how to relax, focus and move into deeper levels of concentration. It teaches you how to relieve and eliminate anxiety, cope with the stress in your life and calm your self. You will be taught different methods of meditation from quieting the mind to focusing on the breath or an object or a thought to visualizations to affirming-type meditations. You will also prepare the body to sit comfortably and practice stillness. Those who attend find that they are able to still the body and calm the mind by softening within and letting go of the internal chatter in the mind. This class is a life saver. If you are late, yet wish to attend, please enter quietly so as not to disturb others. This is a donation-based class. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before the start of the session.

And yes, there will be inversion poses on the rope wall for those who wish to address their back conditions. We will do 15 - 20 poses with the ropes while standing, bending forward, bending backwards, and hanging upside down.
