Rick & Sarah Sayward are the proud owners and operators of Rick's Restaurant & Pub. Both are from the local area and have lived here most of their lives. Rick is Retired from the United States Air Force and Sarah still operates her In Home Day Care which she started when they moved back to Willsboro in 1986. After Retiring from the Air Force, Rick told all of his friends and family he had a dream; one day he would own a hot dog stand. Rick has always liked to cook and he and Sarah love to entertain friends and family, so the restaurant business was a natural. On May 25, 2004 Rick's dream came true. He opened Rick's Place on the Essex Road in Willsboro. Like he said, it was just a take out Hot Dog and Michigan Stand, but soon after he realized they wanted and needed more. They added a dining room and expanded the menu. Soon after doing so, Rick's Place outgrew the Essex Road location. With an offer to move to a larger location, Rick & Sarah started to imagine the possibilities of a larger and better place. The day after Thanksgiving 2007, Rick's Place moved to it's present location. With the exterior of a log cabin, Rick & Sarah wanted something special inside, so they decorated the entire restaurant like an Adirondack log cabin with tables having historical pictures of the Willsboro area. The bar is dedicated to pictures of the pulp mill which used to operate in town. Once again Rick & Sarah expanded the menu to include Fresh Cut Steaks and Seafood. They also added to the staff a 25 year veteran chef "Buddy Green". Rick's dream comes true every day when he opens the restaurant. He says, "When you dine here you are treated like family". Come join Rick & Sarah for lunch or dinner. You'll be glad you did.
