The Rib Cage is an unpretentious, down home kind of place, where guests wearing sequins can mingle with those wearing sweatshirts. Changes over the Rib Cage's lifespan have been subtle. Upon entering a small foyer, visitors have a choice of opening a door on the left or on the right. The former leads to a long bar with televisions generally tuned to sporting events. The latter leads to an inviting dining room that holds about 50. Those who are seated facing the bar can see the TV's, but the sound is kept low and doesn't intrude into the dining experience.
Despite its name, the Rib Cage offers much more than ribs. The menu includes steaks, pasta, seafood, chef's specials and sandwiches. A chalkboard at the entrance advertises daily specials, and prime rib is served the second and forth weekends of the month.
