In this unique sunless tanning method
a clear liquid containing dihydroxyacetone (DHA) is applied to the body by one of our aestheticians using an airbrush. DHA, which has been approved by the FDA for over 30 years for cosmetic applications, reacts with the amino acids in the outer layer of the skin. It is a colorless sugar that darkens the skin by interacting with the surface cells found in the outermost layer of the skin, producing naturally-occurring color changes. As the outermost layer of skin cells naturally wear off, the color gradually fades, just like a genuine suntan. Rejuvenations' IPL system works by emitting pulses of intense lamp-light into the hair follicles.
The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles and converted to heat. The heat then loosens the hair and disables the cells responsible for growing new hair.
