Instructors
Come train with DC's top-notch trainers. Experience counts in fitness — we couldn't agree more!
Audrey Lamb
Audrey loves sweating, screaming and dancing in a dark room on stationary bikes. She has been leading spin classes around the DMV for over 7 years. A certified holistic health coach, her classes emphasize the mind/body connection and just how good you'll feel after you walk out of her class. Audrey is a Boston transplant who appreciates flashy Athleisurewear, a good pino noir, and anything with frosting.
Brittney Savitch
One class with Brittney, and you'll never believe her side gig is teaching dance to small children. Don't worry; she's not asking them to do dead lifts. Making sure her clients always have an eye on proper form and technique, Brittney feeds off of the encouragement and camaraderie of group fitness. Her classes are high-energy, non-stop, and will push you to your limit. There's a reason we call her the "Punisher." Ok, we don't really call her that. But that'd be kinda fun if we did. Certifications: National Personal Training Institute, CrossFit, TRX.
Camille Tuutti
Camille completed her comprehensive teacher training through BASI at Balanced Bodies in Herndon, Va. She fell in love with Pilates in 2012, after her first reformer class. Camille's teaching style emphasizes focus, precision and alignment - and ensuring you have a fun, challenging class! You'll find her most often in the Pilates studio or shoe shopping when she's off the clock. Camille is a journalist at Atlantic Media, serving as Nextgov's executive editor. She's also a certified nutrition coach through the Institute for Transformational Nutrition.
Carlos Urrely
Carlos Urrely completed his advanced teacher training from the IM=X Pilates Studio in Miami, FL. He has also attended several intensive workshops that focused on anatomy, back care, and pre/post natal Pilates. His classes blend both classical and contemporary approaches to the Pilates method with a strong focus on it's key principles: breath, precision, flow and control. Carlos teaches in a fun, friendly and conversational manner with plenty of motivation and humor!
Chloe Mclnnis
Chloe is a walking national monument. That is, she's the rarely-spotted DC native you only hear about in urban legends. Playing both basketball and volleyball at the college level, Chloe takes that leadership and motivation and brings it to all of her classes. Her quick wit and dynamic personality keeps you engaged, almost to the point where you don't even notice you're working up a sweat. Almost. Certifications: Personal Training, Yoga 200RYT, Pilates mat and Reformer, Group Exercise, Nutritional Coaching.
Danielle Karst
Emily Seldin
She's been practicing yoga since high school, where she used it as a balance to running, field hockey, and lacrosse. Fast forward a few years later, and she's a graduate of The Studio DC's 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and is a certified Resist-A-Ball C.O.R.E. instructor. When off the mat, Emily is politically active, enjoys traveling, and loves to cook. She's a native of HuSTLe City. (That's St. Louis for all you noobs).
Erin Maguire
Y'all. We've got a real, live college professor teaching at our studio. She doesn't wear ascots and smoke a pipe, but Erin does moonlight as the Assistant Director of Fitness and Wellness at George Washington University. Aside from teaching groups of doe-eyed underclassmen the ins and outs of personal training prep, she's also been at the front of group fitness classes for over 10 years. Certifications: Personal Training, Group Exercise, Peak Pilates, YogaFit, BODYPUMP, TurboKick, Metabolic Effect.
John Godlasky
John Issa
John is, and always has been a health and fitness enthusiast. Beyond his B.S. degree in Exercise Science, his NASM certification in strength and conditioning, or his abundant wit and ability to laugh at his own jokes, is his belief that everyone can become stronger, fitter, and faster. His classes focus on the execution of perfect form instead of rushing through movements simply to get a better time. He considers his greatest personal accomplishments to be his children - daughter Logan and son Lincoln - both of whom were born doing burpees and walking on their hands.
Jordan McGillis
No stranger to teaching group fitness, Jordan has been in the game in DC and Virginia since 2013. His favorite movement to coach and perform? The muscle up and burpee, both of which we believe are qualifications to make him certifiably crazy. Need more proof? He also attended the inaugural Power Monkey Camp, hosted by former US Olympic Gymnastics team member Dave Durante. To make him seem semi-average, Jordan enjoys history and logic games outside of the studio.
Julie Benson
Know that kind of trainer that smiles at you sweetly, then kindly asks you to do 10 more reps? That's Julie. Her classes are open to all fitness levels and are very client-centric. Whether you're trying to lose weight, build strength, or just reduce stress, Julie is driven by seeing her clients progress in their fitness journeys. Julie also puts her money where her mouth is. When she's not teaching, she's working on her own fitness in one of the many classes Reformation Fitness has to offer. Certifications: Peak Pilates.
Karla Brooks
Karla Brooks is a native Washingtonian. She graduated from Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she majored in classical ballet. She danced professionally for over a decade with various ballet companies throughout the states. Karla was introduced to the Pilates discipline during her dance career. Karla was a member of the teaching faculty at Body Arts and Science International (BASI), an internationally recognized certifying organization. She remains a featured model in many of BASI's study guides and manuals. Karla's fitness background includes certifications from the American Council on Exercise (Health Coach)Healthy Mom's Fitness (Perinatal Specialist) and BASI (Comprehensive Pilates).
Katie Sudhoff
Katie hails from Missouri but has been bouncing around the East Coast for over a decade. Katie has enjoyed running competitively since high school but really got into functional fitness when she joined the Marine Corps after graduating college.
Lindsey Koren
If there's something good that came out of the Federal government shutdown in 2013, it's Lindsey's love for yoga. She first began her practice as a student at the University of Maryland, but it was her newfound time off a few years back that really helped her kick it into gear. She encourages her students not to take her too seriously, and she prides herself on making her classes lighthearted, athletic, and invigorating. In her spare time, she loves cheering on the Terps while eating croissants, chocolate, and other treats. Because balance.
Lisa Ternes
Calm, cool, and collected. That's the name of Lisa's game. In her classes, your face says "I'm totally cool" while your abs scream "what in the world am I doing here?!" Basically, her classes are harder than they look. With an emphasis on alignment and the nuance of movement, Lisa takes you on a deliberate journey of experiential biomechanics. Short version: feel parts of your body you never felt before.
Liz Pandya
Lizzie Stodolski
Meaghan Jennison
Michele Lockhart
Michele Lockhart can be found spinning, boxing, playing soccer, or eating when she is not busy working as an environmental engineer in Washington, DC. Michele loves the way a tough workout puts your mind completely in the zone and makes you feel accomplished!
Mike Huling
Misook Issa
She has devoted over 20 years of teaching, living, and promoting a healthily active lifestyle. Her classes are energetic, challenging, safe, and fun. When she's not teaching you'll find her training with her husband or play dates with her most adorable kids ever.
Nick Wallace
As an ACSM-certified Personal Trainer and the current Personal Training Supervisor at The George Washington University, Nick maintains his own fitness regimen with weightlifting, triathlete competitions, and Tough Mudder races. Drawing on his passions, no two workouts with him will ever be the same. In an attempt to combine his two competing loves of physical wellness and American Politics, he is pursuing a Masters in Public Policy at GWU, concentrating in Health Policy. Nick believes health is a public good and a human right and hopes to make this country a healthier place in the future.
Ori Korin
True story: Ori walked out of her first indoor cycling class five years ago midway through the second song. A couple years later, she gave it another shot and realized that a good instructor, the right music, and a little perseverance go a long way. Her classes promise something for everyone, from the hard-core climbers, to the rhythm dance machines, to the wild speed demons. When she's not cycling, you can find Ori working in the labor movement trying to make sequins office-appropriate, and drinking obscene quantities of Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee.
Rachel Goldberg
Rachel is a South Florida girl transplanted in DC living a plant based diet and lifestyle for the past 3 years. Marathoner turned bikini competitor. Loves working out especially Bikram yoga, weights, running, and group fitness. One class with her and you'll realize, Rachel loves motivating, spreading positivity and encouraging you to push yourself to the next level and NEVER GIVE UP! It's all about discovery, always growing inside and out. Her motto is if it doesn't challenge you it doesn't change.
Sarah Miller
Sarah has been active for most of her life. She cheered in college and briefly tried her hand at running after her cheer days were done. She began crossfit in 2012 and utilizes the functional approach to fitness and wellness. She has been working in fitness full time since the summer of 2015. Sarah's number one priority is safety. She emphasizes form and mechanics, drills consistency, and then adds intensity. She is passionate about fitness and wellness and helps people find exercises that they enjoy and look forward to. Sarah believes if it isn't fun and challenging people will quickly burn out. She has worked with a wide range of clients--teens to older adults, novice to athlete, and persons with various chronic pain disorders and/or injuries. Sarah has her Masters in Social Work from Baylor University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Baylor University. She is also a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and a USAW-L1 Coach.
Scott Cooper
Creativity? Check. Rhythm? Check. Lots of sweat? Double check. With over 10 years of experience, Scott brings the heat in every single one of his classes. Outside the studio, Scott's usually volunteering at a local animal rescue league, taking advantage of his day job's flight benefits, or spending time with his "kids" (of the canine variety).
Sean Maher
This guy has energy. Lots of it. What else do you expect from a self-proclaimed cardio fanatic that has ten marathons and two Ironman triathlons under his belt. He'll provide kick-ass music to help you conquer those nasty hills and fast sprints. When he's not on the bike, you can find Sean in the TRX studio--wherever you find him, he'll help you reach your goals.
Shafer Minnick
Shafer grew up a fat military brat (his words, not ours!). After discovering Spin as an undergrad at the University of Maryland, he was hooked, using his rides as a key part of his 100-lbs. weight loss journey. Fast forward to nine years ago, and he decided to become a bonafide certified instructor. Shafer loves music and he loves cycling. Put the two together, and you've got a class that synergizes high energy and intensity workouts. In other words - and we're singing to the tune of Alicia Keys here - you're legs are on fiiiiiirrrrrreeeeee.
Sue Gallucci
She's always got a smile, but that doesn't mean you're not going to work up a sweat in her classes. Always ready for a workout, Sue brings a genuine playfulness and enthusiasm to TRX/FIT and true serenity to her yoga practice. Her daytime gig is being an awesome social worker, so she's ready and willing to help you work through the pain you're feeling in your muscles after class. Pretty even trade-off, we think.

This fusion style class will have you begging for a recovery weekend.
Studio Lift (2.0 - Basement Barbell Club)
Basement Barbell Club (BBC) strength training program. Join our high-performance strength coaches as we break down the mechanics of barbell lifting, focusing on technique, performance, form, and strength. BBC is a foundational level class that will incorporate three elements: (1) the basics of powerlifting and Olympic weightlifting (2) periodic, progressive loading to develop strength and (3) the conditioning elements you've come to know and love in RF's MetCon classes. BBC will be open to RF members only to ensure that participants in the class share a common language and don't need to start every class from Square 1. With that said, due to the more demanding nature of the barbell lifts, each class will include more time for detailed technique instruction than typically is allotted in the MetCon format. For the same reason, BBC classes are likely to include targeted mobility/stability work. Basement Barbell Club is a great opportunity to try something new, step outside of your comfort zone, and add a new dimension to your fitness. This is a level 2.0-2.5 class members only.
Studio Mat Pilates (1.5 - Strength/Sports Conditioning)
This pilates class is like a teenager: pretty much what you expect, but with a whole lot more attitude. The usual suspects are included: planks, core work, and balance exercises. Though, don't be surprised if your instructor introduces free weights, body bars, power/magic circles, stability balls, or resistance bands. Expect to sweat as you give your arms, legs, shoulders, butt, gut, and back a workout they've never seen before.
Studio Metabolic Conditioning (1.5 - H.I.I.T. To Be Fit)
Metabolic Conditioning (MetCon) is just a fancy term for people who want to burn calories not only during their workout, but after they're done sweating, too. Focused on principles of high-intensity interval training (H.I.I.T), these classes mix it up with cardio, balance, coordination, core, strength, jumps, cuts, and jives. Not for the faint of heart; these workouts will make you want to call your momma (and tell her how much you've toned up after only a few weeks).
Studio Spin (1.5 - Beat Bike / Janet Jams!)
Specialty Theme Ride! Come in, climb onboard, rock out to the super hits of the Janet jams! Our rhythm rides are all about feeling the beat, getting lost in the music and dancing it out on the bike. You'll leave feeling energized, refreshed, and ready to tackle the world!
Studio Spin (1.5 - Beat Bike / Rhythm Based)
Total body, cycle-centric class that will have you dancing, singing, sweating and smiling! Everything you do is set to the beat of the music, your legs are the foundation of the experience, but it's so much more than that! Your core is always active, your upper body is firing and your entire body will move to the beat! Energizing and exhilarating, come in, clip in and rock out to our Beat Bike classes!
Studio Spin (1.5 - Road Ride / Performance Based)
Performance based ride that will translate into outdoor riding. Focus is on intervals, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, class will only contain moves that could be completed while riding a bike outside. This class exclusively uses the console to baseline, track and measure rider's improvements using a combination of mileage, watts and RPMs!
Studio TRX/FIT (1.5 - Functional Integrated Training)
Cardio, strength training, and core work all rolled into one class. Even the seasoned fitness junkie will walk away with a sore muscle or two. Maybe even a sore muscle you didn't even know you had. Be prepared to move, sweat, burn, learn, and laugh. Fast and high-intensity sets will test your endurance, with kettlebells, resistance bands, body bars, free weights, jump ropes and stability (Swiss) balls will also make guest appearances from time to time. We have water in the waiting area. You'll need it. Several times.
Studio Yoga (1.5 - Align & Flow)
Flow is great to sink into that meditative state, but often we hurt ourselves moving quickly from one pose to the next, not really sure of the details that bring life to each asana. In Align and Flow, the student is introduced to a theme, such as an anatomical theme or an energetic theme, that runs through our asana practice. This theme is felt right away, bringing a microscopic focus to their body. The student is then given the ability to apply this throughout the practice. The meditative flow will be an important component, but will be done with conscious focus. All levels will benefit. The beginner will gain confidence and a firm foundation for their practice, while the advanced practitioner will be surprised to find new levels of depth to add their practice and will be challenged to push their edge.
Studio Yoga (1.5 - Power & Flow)
Want to learn traditional yoga, but don't want the hassle of the 20- and 30-person classes? This one is for you. Focusing on powerful sequences of strength-building and breath-synchronized movements, our small class size allows not only literal space for your half moons but figurative space for individualized attention and correction from the instructor. You'll be so happy, you'll be vinyasa-ing down the street.
