About Us
Friesh’s (pronounced “Free-esh”) restaurant is named after her Ethiopian guide and mentor, Queen of Sheba. She has owned Ethiopian restaurants in the Durham/Chapel Hill area for the past 14 years. Loyal customers come from all over the Triangle and the world to enjoy her delicious Ethiopian food and the welcoming/friendly ambiance her restaurant offers.When the building for her previous restaurant was torn down, she began to search for a new location. During the 18 month search for a new restaurant 'home,' Friesh continued to cook her delicious meals at private parties. She has always been touched by the generosity of her customers from Chapel Hill and around the world who have been so supportive of her.
