In 1981 I signed an agreement with Marty Schantz to rent with the option to buy and continued doing business under “The Starting Gate.” In 1985, I changed the Tavern Roomname of the restaurant to “The Publik House” and have been livin’ a dream ever since – you know, the one about owning your own business. Most of the entire structure has been renovated since I have owned the building. I have just completed my last renovation. I call it the Ben Franklin Tavern room. This could look much like a tavern Ben may have visited when he was “iced in at Saratoga Springs.” At that time, the United States of America was just a dream!
