Love. This is the definition of preet in Punjabi. And since Preet’s opened its doors on November 15, 2004, we strive to serve and share with each customer the love that goes into the creation of each recipe.
Our story began in the early 60’s, in a small village in Northern India. Iqbal Dha first learned her craft from her mother and grandmother in her home of Rai Pur Arian. As a small child she showed a passion and excitement for experimenting with food and creating new recipes.
Iqbal immigrated to the United States with her family in 1980. She dedicated herself to raising her three children while never forgetting her true passion in life. She wanted to share her love of cooking with everyone she could. She started with small catering events. Her amazing talents and dedication to her craft opened a door of great opportunity in 2001. This was the year all her hard work and determination came full circle. In a joint effort with her brother Jasbir Rai, she opened up her first restaurant called Punjab Sweets.
