So Pita Pit ditched all the heavy breads and buns, along with the higher carbs and fat that today’s health-conscious consumers are trying to avoid. Pita Pit was born in Kingston, Ontario (Canada, eh) in 1995. Pita Pit USA was created in 2005 when a group of past franchisees and investors, headed by Jack Riggs, MD, bought the rights to expand the Canadian business into the United States. Pita Pit USA, Inc’s corporate headquarters are in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.
