PILATES STATEN ISLAND is Staten Island’s best kept secret for Pilates instruction. The New Dorp studio is on the site of The Institute for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, run by Dr.’s Jack D’Angelo, Christopher Perez, and Perry Drucker. The Pilates studio is independently owned and operated by Celeste Zopich and is designed for private Pilates lessons. This studio offers a full line of Pilates apparatus in a beautifully decorated, serene, and professional environment.
The 2nd location of PILATES STATEN ISLAND, is conveniently located just a few minutes from the Verrazano Bridge, with easy access from Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island. The studio is an elegantly appointed space for exclusive Pilates work. Mat classes are offered on formal plush studio mats (accommodating a maximum of 8 students per class). Private apparatus lessons are also offered on a full array of Pilates apparatus.
Whether you are new to Pilates or an experienced practitioner, each (private) client first participates in a postural and movement analysis with discussion of movement patterns/ restrictions, injury/medical history, and client goals. Based upon this analysis a program is uniquely designed for each individual. Mat classes accommodate both the novice and more seasoned practitioner and are leveled accordingly. Clients that attend the studio range from those referred from medical practitioners to those that are super fit and everyone in between. Emphasis is always on establishing and re-establishing proper movement patterns through breath and postural alignment with emphasis on stability, flexibility, and strengthening.
