Proprietor Phil Hart finished his military enlistment with the US Air Force in 1963. Upon his return he went to work for his father at Hart's Cafe (established in 1946 which is now shut down) to learn the restaurant business. After nine years working with his Dad it became evident to Phil that it was time to think of his future. He took his knowledge of the restaurant business and with a strong ambition started the format for the Harvest Restaurant with construction taking place in October 1971 and opening its doors in July 1972. All of Phil's personal resources were invested in this business by which he construed the name "Harvest" for "Hart Investment." The business has flourished since that time, adding size to the building in 1974. At this time the "second generation" of the Hart Family is tending to the daily and managment positions at the family restaurant paving the way for the next 37 years!
