Eliminate Tear Stains
We have the answer to unsightly tear stains! Ask us about Angel Eyes!
Many people wonder why some dog's and cat's eyes water, which causes a stain on the fur just below their eyes.
This condition is called epiphora. When the facial hair is wet from excess tearing it is the breeding ground for bacteria and yeast. Not only is it unsightly but may be very irritating to your pet. The staining may also emit a moderate to noticably strong odor
Up until now these reddish brown stains due to tear pigments were hard to eliminate completely.
Tear staining can be traced to health and diet, as well as genetics. Angels' Eyes is the first product specifically developed for both dogs and cats to eliminate unsightly tear stains from the inside out!
Finally, a break through in tear stain removal that is 100% wheat and dye free!

Dog Grooming Competitions
Most people are not aware that Professional dog grooming competitions even exist.
Yet they are getting bigger and bigger across the country and abroad. The first grooming competitions were held during the late 70's and early 80's and involved simple trims and basic grooming skills performed before a group of judges. Now there are several categories from novice to expert and the grooming is spectacular. All breeds as well as mixed breeds can be entered and divisions are based on coat type, breed and size.
In 1980 a new type of competition was introduced called the Creative Styling Contest.
n Chicago, Illinois, show organizer and groomer, Jerry Schinberg had seen a human Creative Hair styling contest and decided to bring the idea to groomers. It wasn't exactly a huge success at first but it was the start of what is now the biggest draw to dog grooming trade shows and competitions. By the mid 80's groomers began experimenting with colors using kool-aide to dye white coats a rainbow of colors. Judges were mystified but soon began to see dogs sculpted and dyed to fit any theme imaginable. Some have jungle murals sculpted into plush poodle coats, others are dyed and trimmed to look like lions, tigers, zebras, etc. Anything is possible.
sk your groomer if they have ever competed and where you might go to see a competition.
You won't be disappointed! The Atlanta Pet Fair and the Carolina Groomfest in Columbia are two excellent shows in the Southeast. They are held in March and May each year. You can check them out online too. Article by: Sallie Walbourne, NCMG
Puppy's First Grooming
Depending on the breed you choose, your puppy's grooming can be the most important experience of his life.
The main objective is...that he likes it! His first experience positive or negative will remain with him forever.
From the day you bring the puppy home you should handle him gently all over
including his feet. You can then advance to the brush and comb. At twelve weeks old he will be ready for his first grooming shop visit. All his shots will be up to date to protect him from any illness and he will have had a few weeks of handling, brushing and combing. Working as a team, you and your groomer will provide the best care that your puppy needs to look and feel his best.
Your puppy's first visit to the Grooming Salon
Your groomer may suggest that you bring your puppy to the salon for a couple
brief visits to familiarize him with all the sights and sounds of the salon before his actual appointment
Other groomers prefeer that you being him in for his appointment and they
will allow the puppy to become accustomed to the activity in the salon as they go through the grooming process.
On your way to the grooming salon be happy!
If you feel stressed or nervous, your puppy will pick up on your feelings and may become fearful and aprehensive.
Be sure to excercise your puppy right before the grooming experience to allow him to relieve himself.
How long will it take?
His first few appointments may be quite lengthy.
It is extrememly important for your puppy to trust his groomer and to be comfortable with everything the groomer does to him. He may need a break or two, a brief playtime to work off excess energy and stress or a little quiet time. There must be no rushing. With gentle guidance he will learn grooming is an enjoyable experience and not something to be feared.
Make sure you give a number where you can be reached at any time.
Your groomer will give you a time to pick up your puppy or will call you when he is finished. Do not come back early! If your puppy sees or hears your voice, he could become so excited that it may be impossible to finlish his groom.
What happens during my puppy's grooming session?
First, your puppy will be thouroughly brushed.
This will allow him to become familiar with his groomer as he speaks softly and strokes him genty. Then he will begin clipping and scissoring his coat.
Before his bath, your groomer will clean your puppy's ears and clip his toenails and may brush his teeth.
He will place a drop of eye protector in his eyes to keep any suds from irritating them if he should shake.
The next step is a warm bath with a high quality puppy shampoo massaged throughout his coat
followed by a conditioner. A Very thorough rinsing completes that part of the bathing processs.
Your puppy is immediately dried with towels and then fluff dried to avoid any chills.
When he is completely dry, his groomer will finish styling him. His groom may be completed with bows or a bandana and pet cologne.
After the groom
Being clipped and groomed is a completely new experience for your puppy.
He may feel "funny" and want to rub himself on the carpet or furniture, or he may scratch himself. A little of this is normal, but do not let him cause any irritation to himself. Remember that his freshly clipped nailss may be sharp and can easily irritate his puppy skin. If you have any questions, contact your groomer immediately.
Thera-Clean Services
What is the Thera-Clean difference?
This is not your typical bath. It is a Thera-Clean therapy bath. A bath that not only deep cleans the hair of your pet but more importantly it deep cleans the skin using nothing but micro bubbles. Dirt accumulated inside the pores is one of the causes of bad odor. To ensure an even deeper clean, we add an all natural plant enzyme that helps loosen the dirt and debris that is stuck on the skin wall that we can't see. No soaps, shampoos or any chemicals of any kind are used in this process. It is completely hypo allergenic. When pets are experiencing allergies or skin sensitivities, the avoidance of soaps, surfactants and chemicals can prove extremely beneficial. A Thera-Clean bath reduces odor, reduces itching, ensures no additional skin irritation and improves results of other skin therapies that your groomer or veterinarian may be recommending.
So, what are these microbubbles?
Simply speaking, micro bubbles are tiny bubbles. To be a micro bubble, they must be less than 1000 micrometers in size. The Thera-Clean system creates millions and millions of bubbles that range from 3-20 micro meters. To put this into perspective, a human hair is 70 micrometers in size and most bacteria is between 3-40 micrometers in size. This is perfect penetrating hair follicles and skin pores while not passing through the epidermis.
How do microbubbles compare to medicated shampoos?
Micro bubbles work on a much deeper level than any soaps or shampoos. They offer a whole new concept of clean skin. This means the micro bubble therapy will enhance the efficiency of any other form of "treatment". Any medication whether administered in the form of a shampoo or orally will function much better due to improved pore and hair follicle condition. This is why the system is being used so extensively in veterinarian hospitals in Japan.
How will my pet respond to the Thera-Clean bath?
Thera-Clean is gentle on your pet and an enjoyable experience for them. Did you know that pets also have a lot of stress just like you and I by living in a variety of environments? The Thera-Clean bath will ease the stress by negative ionized air and a synergy effect of the all natural plant enzyme. Thera-Clean therapy is perfectly safe and can be used daily if necessary.
The Thera-Clean difference. Make the difference in your pet's skin health today
We generally work by appointment only during our normal business hours. We can take walk-ins for nail trims, anal glands, etc.
