About Us
Penn Brewery tells the story of Pittsburgh’s European immigrants through our craft beer and homemade cuisine. Pittsburgh’s oldest and largest brewery, Penn’s main brewery is housed in the mid nineteenth-century landmark E&O Brewery Building in the North Side’s Deutschtown neighborhood, which was settled by German immigrants. Penn has been producing high-end craft beers since 1986, specializing in authentic, award-winning German-style beers brewed in the tradition of these immigrants, according to the strict quality standards of Reinheitsgebot. Now, we’ve brought those beers to downtown Pittsburgh, at our Taproom & Kitchen at 432 First Ave. In addition, we also offer a menu of fresh sandwiches, salads, and appetizers alongside our beers, making the Taproom the perfect spot for an eat-in or grab ‘n go lunch, or an after-work Happy Hour drink.
