Dantayama Yoga
This restorative style of yoga offers a doorway inside. Explore your true nature, the nature of the Self which is BLISS. Come dive into the ocean of bliss through postures that allow access into a deeper realm and ultimately a deeper awareness throughout the body and mind. This style of yoga invites you to welcome the art of "being" as opposed to "doing".
A Slow Yoga Class
Join Megan and discover the power of slowing down your yoga. This is a safe, thoughtful and strengthening practice that will challenge your views on achievement. We'll use the power of the breath to transform our movements and our ability to release into meditation. Based on Viniyoga, a practice that prioritizes the practitioner over the pose, we'll explore appropriate modifications, find new patterns, and try to relieve suffering. You'll breathe more, feel more and remember the difference between feeling happy and being happy. This is a class for anyone who wants more without becoming less.
A Restorative Yoga Class
Before the week begins, give yourself a break. We're looking at you, Ms. Hyper-Achiever. And you, Mr. Over-Scheduled. You know you need it. Join Megan for a wander through some meditative and nourishing postures. Using blankets and blocks to support your body, she'll guide you toward an experience of calm. In this place, you'll understand what it means to savor a good moment and to feel the integrity of your true self. She might even arrange a gold-star system for breath work. And if you like the joy of achievement, we'll set our sights on triggering your parasympathetic nervous system, our innate, autonomic though often unactivated resource that allows us to repair and restore physically and emotionally. Your body will do the rest. Everyone wins.
Yoga Basics
In this beginners yoga class, you will be introduced to the proper alignment of yoga asana (postures), as well as breathing techniques. You will be able to grow and expand upon by also learning to incorporate breath to movement to prepare you for more vigorous asana classes if you choose. This is a great class to set up the foundations of yoga, challenge the body, and mind. This class is also always welcome to advanced practitioners who just want to get grounded and come back to the basics that we all need to be reminded of here and there. The Stress-Less style focuses on key areas in the body that house stress and experience tightness, such as the hip joints, low back and the neck and shoulders. Kundalini Yoga
Kundalini, "the yoga of awareness," opens your heart, builds strength and releases the energy located at the base of your spine. It has the power to unlock barriers within ourselves that can unleash a supremely joyful and serene Self. Kundalini is without a doubt one of the more spiritual styles of yoga. It focuses on breath and movement and challenges its students both physically and mentally.
Pilates Mat
Our Pilates Mat classes are open level to all students and are based on Joseph Pilates's classical Mat exercise routine incorporating breathing, control, centering, concentration, movement, and precision. Mat Pilates is a low impact exercise regime that will help alleviate chronic aches, pains and injuries while lengthening the spine and increasing flexibility and range of movement. Engage your "Powerhouse" throughout the class in order to increase core strength and stability, and learn to implement proper body positioning in your day-to-day life (including a "tall, straight" spine, ribcage and shoulder placement, and pelvic alignment). All exercises can be modified for injuries.

As a yoga therapist, a certified massage therapist and a Reiki practitioner, I have a deep belief that knowledge of the self may be the most transformative experience life allows. When we settle with ignorance of who and what we are, we surrender some of our power to heal. So I hope to help you learn to know yourself. Yoga has long been used to guide people from suffering to happiness. When it is directed therapeutically, it can also help to prevent or alleviate physical and mental pain. Massage therapy provides another avenue to encourage the body and mind to release negative patterns of stress. And Reiki works with the energy in and out of the body to find balance and restore tranquility. I work with all three approaches, informed by ongoing studies in yoga philosophy, Ayurveda, anatomy and physiology to reacquaint my clients with their true natures. Which means working with me is working with you. We'll use your breath, your comfort, your visualization and your personal ritual as tools to build your health. When we work together, I tailor all bodywork to you, responding to what I see, hear and feel from the moment we meet. I observe the condition of your body and breath, your mood, your energy. Your treatment will be as unique as you are. It's just how things work. As your body and mind begin to shift, we'll alter the tools we use. For those who are interested, I may introduce mantra, meditation and yoga asana. For others, I may do a deep tissue massage with some trigger point work. Yoga Instruction
I'm also an accredited yoga teacher who specializes in guiding you to yoga that is appropriate and safe for your body and mind. I practice and teach Viniyoga, an authentic tradition of yoga passed down from Krishnamacharya, the 20th century yogi who inspired most of the yoga now practiced in the West (though he might not agree with the current trends). Viniyoga is a contemplative practice that calls on its practitioners to honor themselves by modifying postures, meditation, and breath to suit their individual strengths and limitations. In my 20 years with yoga, I've found Viniyoga to be the most challenging practice I've encountered. Also, the most revitalizing. Whether you're new to yoga or an old friend to a practice, a private session is a great chance to ponder the mysteries of your movement, your restrictions and your ease. And if you're looking for your breath, comfort, recovery, strength, insight, or just a pair of eyes to check alignment, I can help.

Welcome to P.B. Yoga & Healing Arts! We offer classes for everyone and every-body. We ask that you please arrive 15 minutes early for your first class. We look forward to meeting you!
What should I do before my first class?
Make sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day, hydration is very important. Also, make sure to avoid eating a heavy meal within two to three hours of class, a heavy meal can make your yoga practice very uncomfortable. Please mention any injuries to your teacher as they will be able to provide modifications to standard Yoga poses to help you get the most out of your practice.
What should I bring with me?
Bring a yoga mat if you own one, if not we do have a few available for students, however they are only available on a first come first serve basis. Some students work up quite a sweat, if you think that it would be helpful you are more than welcome to bring a towel with you.
What should I wear?
PB Yoga and Healing Arts recommends that our students wear light, comfortable clothing that allows a full range of movement. It is best to wear natural fibers. You should also avoid large t-shirts, short shorts, and very loose clothing. We ask that you remove your shoes prior to entering the practice area.
