Our restaurant has been a gathering place for township meetings, dances, weddings, and many other events. Back in the olden days, it was also a gathering place for a band of outlaws known as the “Fagen Gang.” One of the members of the gang, Lewis Fenton was hung on September 23, 1779 in front of the restaurant by members of the Major Lee’s Light Dragoons. They were stationed at the County Seat of the Monmouth County Court House, now known as Freehold. We were also visited by the great President George Washington.
