he gong produces a whole spectrum of harmonics that are based on pressure waves, vibrating the energy meridians in the body and bringing them into balance. students will be guided through a short centering and gentle breath work (pranayama) to relax the physical body. lying in savasana, receivers are "bathed" for 40 minutes in the deep nurturing sound of the gong. the "living tones" build upon each other and evolve on their own, producing a sea of sound that is both timeless and alive. we not only hear the sound through our ears but through our bodies, affecting us at the deepest cellular levels. within this experience, tensions are released, blockages cleared - mind and body are soothed. no previous experience is necessary - simply show up and be open to the experience.
Iyengar Yoga
iyengar yoga is the progressive system of yoga study developed by yoga master b.k.s. iyengar. when necessary, supports called "props", such as blocks, belts, blankets and bolsters are used to facilitate learning and to allow all students to progress safely and intelligently based on their specific needs, strengths, and weaknesses. iyengar yoga offers useful and practical ways to experience the valuable art, science, and philosophy of yoga. poses are modified to accommodate all levels of experience as well as particular physical conditions. students will be introduced to asanas from different families
