Challenging Vinyasa or flowing series of poses, experience suggested. It is recommended but not required that you attend Basic or Level 1-2 classes before attending Open classes.
Level 1 - 2
Building from a familiarity with all Level 1, the basic asana and principles, including inverted positions and backbends. More challenging asana are added and a deeper level of understanding of the practice is conveyed.
Community Class - Open level, 1hr
A one hour class for beginner to intermediate level.
Foundation for technique; good for all students. This class offers a safe, moderate (re)introduction to alignment, form, breathing & spirit of the practice. Basic postures taught, no previous experience required. Drop-ins welcome although classes will follow a progressive sequence. Basic yes, but it can be rigorous even so.
Level 2 - 3
Intermediate to advanced practice, The most challenging level, recommended for people who are ready to explore advanced variations of arm balances, inversions, jumpbacks, backbends and lotus. At this level the student will be familiar with principles of alignment and a wide range of asana. Assumes the student has ability to do Adho Mukha Vrksana (Hand Stand) at the wall and Urdhva Danurasana (Upward facing Bow/Wheel) with straight arms.

Isabella, the owner and primary teacher of The Shack Yoga, a yoga studio in Jose Ignacio, Uruguay is a certified Jivamukti Yoga instructor.

Gen Kelsang Norden
Gen Kelsang Norden is an English Buddhist nun.
Ordained as a Buddhist nun in 1994, Gen Norden has been teaching Buddhism and meditation in the US and the UK for the past 18 years. Her teachings are inspired by her deep love of Dharma and her many years of practice. Gen Norden moved to the East End of Long Island in 2010 when she was asked by her teacher Ven Geshe Kelsang Gyatso to become the Resident Teacher of Vajravarahi Buddhist Meditation Center, Sag Harbor
Mitten was introduced to Yoga at the age of 55 and in her very first class realized that the asana practice is a special gift to the body, mind, and spirit.
She believes that it gives one the opportunity and ability to move with greater harmony and grace through the rhythms of life. Having lived in NYC for 60 years, of which 30 of those years she taught early childhood education at Park Avenue Christian School, Mitten was more than delighted to move east and continue teaching here, this time Yoga to adults as well as children. Monica grew up in a small town in Switzerland where she started practicing hatha yoga at the age of 14, over 30 years ago. Hatha yoga, along with chanting and meditation have been the pillars of her life, allowing her to experience happiness and freedom from within. She completed her teacher training in the Anusara style and philosophy, and holds a certificate at the 200 hour level. Monica has been teaching for eight years; she is known as an inspirational teacher who's main focus is alignment, breath and the language of the heart. While teaching a well rounded class, she has the ability and gift to take her students to a place of deep stillness within. Monica is also a professional Doula, certified by DONA International, who serves and educates women during pregnancy, birth and postpartum, making this most defining time truly remarkable.
