For years Nica’s Market has been delighting customers with its authentic Italian flare, extensive selection of high quality products and excellent customer service. Shopping at Nica’s is like taking a walk through the streets of an old European village. Greeted by friendly staff, you’ll walk through aisles of hidden treasures only to be lured by succulent panini, home-cooked meals and gourmet pizzas. The freshest produce, fruit and meats are just some of the things you’ll find between blooming flowers, Italian gelato and cheeses from around the world. You’ll always find friends and family gathered on our outdoor patio and owner Giuseppe serenading them with old Italian classics. Although Nica’s has only been in operation since 2002, Giuseppe is no stranger to the East Rock neighborhood in New Haven. He has become a gourmet icon since opening his first store in 1989. His children Antonio and Rosanna share ownership of the market and along with his wife Giovanna ensure that the market lives up to its high standards in every department. It is truly a family affair.
