We'll spiral through some great balance and core work. Finish with savasana under the trees. Yoga In The Park! This class will be held outdoors in Prospect Park. Meet at the New Leaf front desk 5 minutes before the scheduled start time of class, check in, and take a brief walk with your teacher to a great spot in the park. Bring your own mat. Pay at the desk or online in advance. Newcomers to yoga are welcome!. Baby Om Prenatal Yoga
A joyful small group yoga class for expectant moms. We experience standing poses, building an awareness of body centering. Our practice of the breath draws our attention inward, and seated asanas open the hips and release the low back. We finish with restorative poses to balance and nurture energy. Mothers-to-be leave class invigorated, better prepared for labor, and in deep connection with our changing bodies. All New Leaf prenatal classes follow the recommendations of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for exercise during pregnancy. Please join us if you are approved for exercise at this time by your midwife or obstetrician
Baby Om Baby & Me Yoga
A 75-minute class providing a full yoga experience for both caregiver and baby. For mom, a true postnatal yoga class including asanas and pranayama to re-establish core strength and alignment, close diastasis recti, tone pelvic floor, and relieve and strengthen the upper body. Babies participate throughout, enjoying multi-sensory stimulation and age-appropriate developmental movements such as tummy time, rolling and sitting. Through shared community, this class supports moms through common challenges such as nursing and fatigue, while increasing vitality and connection with our babies' emerging skills. We ask that you please wear or carry your baby to New Leaf; unfortunately, we don't have space for strollers. If you must bring one, please plan to lock it outside during class
Align Yoga All Levels Welcome
Develop your ability to feel your body's own optimal alignment in this small group yoga class. We will use yoga asanas and breathing techniques to empower a deeper connection to your body and it's relationship to gravity. Areas of focus will include asanas to lift the chest, neck, shoulders and spine, and release the hips, leading to greater balance and ease in the body
Restorative Yoga
A gentle yoga experience designed to help de-stress at day's end and promote deep relaxation before sleep. Rather than seeking challenge as in other types of classes, in Restorative Yoga, we head for the very center of your comfort zone. We experience breath and stillness for a minute, or a few, in each of a series of carefully selected restful poses. We use soft bolsters and blankets to support the body for a deep release of muscle tension. This class provides sweet relief for newbies and experienced yoga practitioners alike. Those healing from injury may find this class a particularly welcome opportunity. We get some of our best nights of sleep ever - naturally and healthfully - after New Leaf Restorative Yoga class
