Before and After Care:

Permanent Makeup & Tattooing WILL NOT be performed if you are PREGNANT OR NURSING!!!! It is your responsibility to inform of any eye surgeries or any eye conditions or any other health conditions. No exceptions.

Do not wear contact lenses to your appointment, bring your glasses

Come with your eyeliner on if you like to show me how you want it otherwise come with no eye makeup on.

No mascara.

Clean contacts can be worn 24-48 hrs after the procedure

No mascara for 72 hrs after the procedure, you can tip the lashes with the mascara, do not take it all the way to the skin until 7-10 days after the procedure.

It is recommended to buy a new tube of mascara to use after the procedure to reduce the risk of infection.

DO NOT USE oily makeup remover, baby oil, mineral oil or heavy creams, especially glycolics around the eyes.

Do not use too much ointment on the tattoo as it can irritate your skin, be thorough but not excessive.

Eyeliner can and will have some residual pigment that may peel or flake off after a couple days(in most cases)..that is ok..

Our Preferred Ointment is either Aquaphor or A&D Ointment not Vaseline.

The properties in these choices help the skin heal more efficiently.

Anymore than this is excessive and unnecessary. To do so take a clean tissue and blot off (not rub off) any residual ointment. Once your tattoo is dry, wash gently with Dial antibacterial soap with your clean fingers only, no washcloths. (The regular orange Dial pump kind is best and easiest to find.) Rinse it off and pat it dry with a clean tissue. Then apply ointment. No need to gob it on, a thin layer is plenty. This method of healing should be done until your tattoo is finished peeling. Usually 5 to 8 days into healing. Once it is done peeling, stop using ointment. Then switch to lotion. Any kind of lotion used for healing skin is fine. Fragrance free or not. Keep applying lotion to your new tattoo make up for an additional week. One week of ointment, one week of lotion and your new tattoo is healed.

Please indicate with your artist and in your health intake whether you have allergies to the numbing agent used with the cosmetic tattoo process.

Some residual swelling is normal for ALL procedures.

Some clients may have no swelling some may have a great deal...this is individualized. You can apply ice to the treated area if necessary. Dry skin, itching and tenderness are common after the procedure. These symptoms will dissipate each day and vary on an individual basis.

If you are out in the sun frequently

use anti-aging creams, Retinol products, natural elements, regular chemical peels, or exercise frequently, you will probably need a color boost every 10mos. to 1yr. The better you take care of the treated area, the longer it will last.

General Rules for ALL Cosmetic Tattoo Procedures

Limited Sun

Avoid extreme exercise (sweating) the day of the procedure & directly after the procedure, at least 10 days..

No swimming until the area is completely healed, salt water/chlorine can cause the pigments to fade or change in color.

2 weeks minimum.

Only touch the treated areas with extremely clean hands to apply ointment.

This is a must..we do not want an infection.

Do not rub, scratch or pick at the treated area, let any scabbing naturally exfoliate off....Picking can cause scarring.

Eyeliner

If you have had any eye surgery, ex; Lasix....Cornea..Upper or Lower Blepharoplasty.....Lens repair..... etc. you will need to wait at least 6 months before permanent makeup can be applied on your eyes and a Dr's note may be requested. If you have tear duct plugs, do not do the liner procedure.

Lips

Aftercare: Avoid Sunlight for first 2 weeks. The sun will fade the pigment, which is still settling into your skin. Even after the tattoos have healed, be consistent with applying sunscreen to those areas of your face, to avoid fading. There are no free touch ups for lips. Lips can take 1-3 treatments for desired depth of color. Keeping lips moist daily will lengthen the time the pigment will last...everyone heals different.

Aftercare

Avoid Contact of the tattooed area with Clothing, Makeup and Food

Be careful as you pull on shirts or other garments over your face that you don't brush the new tattoo accidentally.

Also, don't put any makeup on, particularly just after treatment of makeup tattooing. You might cause an infection or otherwise damage the tattoo.

In the case of food, it may be challenging for a while to eat with tattooed lips, but it can be done.

Avoid biting or licking your lips as much as possible, and make sure no food or drink stays on there.

If you are prone to cold sores or take medication for this such as Valtrex, please notify your technician prior to getting your lips tattooed.

Our Preferred Ointment is either Aquaphor or A&D Ointment, not Vaseline.

Once your tattoo is dry, wash gently with Dial antibacterial soap with your clean fingers only, no washcloths. (The regular orange Dial pump kind is best and easiest to find.) Rinse your tattoo off and pat the tattoo dry with a clean paper towel.

Then apply ointment.

No need to gob it on, a thin layer is plenty. When you go to work, and clothing is going over a tattoo: Wash, Dry, and Ointment your tattoo then wrap with a clean piece of Saran Wrap. This is also a useful tool to use before bedtime. Do this every night for the first week. This saves your clothes, and sheets from unwanted and irremovable oil stains. While completely protecting your new tattoo from scabbing.

The Saran Wrap is a great way to heal your tattoo but you should not use it longer than 8 hours at a time.

When you wake or come home from work, remove the plastic and wash immediately.

This method of healing should be done until your tattoo is finished peeling.

Usually 5 to 8 days into healing. Once the tattoo is done peeling, stop using ointment and Saran Wrap. Then switch to lotion. Any kind of lotion used for healing skin is fine. Fragrance free or not. Keep applying lotion to your new tattoo for an additional week.

One week of ointment, one week of lotion and your new tattoo is healed.
