Taught with music and subdued lighting this class focuses on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. Modifications for beginners as well as those advancing the practice will be offered. You will learn techniques to help you gain flexibility, strength, and mindfulness. Beginners encouraged to start here. Open to all levels and abilities.
Gentle Yoga
Our gentle class is a slower, modified and flowing version of the of our basic yoga class. Gentle yoga teaches the importance of balancing the body, mind and spirit while moving the joints and stretching the body. This class is a practice that brings grace and love back into the body and mind and allows for more joy, stability and range when moving.
Power Flow
Heated to approx. 85-90 degrees, our energetic power flow class incorporates sun salutations. traditional flowing sequences with balancing and held postures. Class focuses on integrating mindfulness, breath and movement. Class ends with relaxation All levels welcome.
Restorative Yoga
Our most gentle class and a compliment to any level of practice. No experience is needed. Restorative yoga emphasizes the calming of the nervous system and teaches the art of relaxation, which has tremendous mental and physical benefits. A series of rejuvenating and supported poses are taught to promote vitality and create a state of deep relaxation. Melt tension away and leave feeling completely refreshed and fully restored. A great class for all levels of yoga students.
Yin Yoga
A quiet practice suitable for all students. It provides an opportunity to surrender, slow down, and bring balance to your practice. Many of the poses are seated, and are held for longer periods of time to encourage slow and safe openings. There is a focus on the breath, being present in the moment, relieving tension and letting go. The Yin practice includes powerful mental and emotional benefits as its practitioner becomes quiet, still and mindful of the present. Yin yoga is open to all levels of students and is a perfect complement to a more yang or more active style of yoga such as Vinyasa or Power Flow.
