the athletes class is a high octane class for serious weekend warriors, runners, bikers, triathletes, iron men, ultimate frisbee players, dancers, gymnasts, etc. these are individuals who are quite fit, but because of their intense training, usually have serious flexibility needs. they've also overworked parts of their body, creating muscle imbalances which put them at risk for injury. athletes wanting to start yoga can enroll in the intro for athletes class series.
Children's Yoga
these fun, fast paced classes are designed to help children gain strength, flexibility and balance. the students learn basic yoga poses to improve their coordination and concentration. the yoga classes are designed to build confidence for all levels of students and increase their ability to focus. through stories, pictures and poses, the kids learn the foundation of yoga. the classes are taught by myc instructor linda murphy. linda is a mother of three and has years of teaching experience with all ages of children and teens in the shorewood school system.

Parkinson's
this class is a wonderful opportunity for those students with parkinson’s or ms and their caretakers to enjoy a fun and challenging class together. students work carefully and use aids or props such as a rope wall, chair or counter to do the poses safely. continuing students have seen significant improvement in strength, flexibility, and balance. each student is guided and works at his or her level.
Pranayama
pranayama is a way of working with the breath that affects the deeper layers of our body and consciousness. pranayama has many effects, including stimulation of circulation and respiration, soothing the mind, aiding concentration and relaxation. students need to have one year of iyengar yoga classes to attend.
Prenatal Yoga
the women's restorative class is perfect for expectant mothers and for those who have recently given birth. yoga helps to maintain strength, flexibility and calmness during pregnancy and helps to relieve backache, fatigue, digestive disorders and headaches which often appear sometime during pregnancy. students will learn breathing exercises, which will help calm the nervous system.
Senior's Yoga
for older men and women who want to improve mobility, energy and confidence in their normal daily activies. the class is designed for those 65 and older who want to strenghen and tone muscles, improve circulation and breathing, improve balance, aid concentration and peach of mind, and maintain flexibility of the spine. the class is taught by meredith watts, a retired teacher, who came to yoga later in life and has found it to be vital in manageent of illness, chronic conditions and the stresses of daily life.
Strength And Stamina
one of the hall marks of iyengar yoga is the emphasis on standing poses to build flexibility, strength, stamina and balance. b.k.s. iyengar believes that "mastery of the standing poses prepars the pupil for the advanced poses" and even once the standing poses have been "mastered," he cautions, "it is advisable to do them once a week."
Women's Restorative Yoga
time to restore and renew. bring yourself back to balance with this class designed for women. this class is also ideal for anyone who is premenstrual, prenatal or premenopausal. the women’s restorative class will be taught by tracey radloff, an experienced certified iyengar yoga instructor and mother of an inquisitive 6-year old.
