The design of Merchants NY Café was meant to evoke the feeling of a European brasserie. The atmosphere is warm, inviting and informal, with an open kitchen that segues into the cozy, white marble-topped bar – where customers can gather while they wait to dine or just mingle with friends, neighbors or co-workers.Chef Wade Burch describes his menu as “American Bistro cuisine. We use the freshest of seasonal ingredients and strive to simply enhance their natural taste and character. Much like a Parisian Bistro we hope to provide comfort food in a comfortable setting, with dishes like roast chicken with garlic, lemon, and rosemary, seafood from all three coasts, and Steak Diane in a plate-licking delicious mushroom brandy cream sauce. The wood burning oven is used to prepare a variety of pizzas as well as to roast the Atlantic Salmon”. A full bar complements the menu as well as the outdoor setting, with selections from an upscale Cabernet by the glass to signature cocktails such as the Lychee martini and Mojoito (fresh orange and cointreau Mojito).
