Double fried green plantains. Cut thick, fried, smashed to a thin disc and re-fried, Tostones accent every plate that leaves our kitchen. Order a plate of them because they are just that good.
The same plantain as the Tostone but riper & sweeter. Julienne sliced, then fried. We often hear "Did you add any sugar to make these sweet?" Tender & caramelized these gems are great alone or atop any salad.
Similar to the potato, but NOT to be confused with the Yucca plant, this vegetable can disguise itself very well. Thin sliced, fried, dippable in our homemade Baricua sauce, you will find yourself crunching one after another. If you share these as an appetizer you will have to split the plate even steven, One for you, one for me!
Thin sliced and fried while still green before the starch has any chance of converting to sugar, this root vegetable adds a tender yet crunchy layer to any sandwich. A perfect alternative to the typical potato chip.
The best of both worlds...Both Plantain AND Yuca. All together on one plate. Served with plenty of Baricua sauce!

The Meeting Corner was a venture between friends in 2012. It began as a local vendor/consignment boutique where Edna catered & served lunch from 3 booths nestled in the back. The Corner lot on Fuquay's main street has grown to be the town's own Puerto Rican/Latin Fusion eatery known for handcrafted Cubans & Pastelon. Owner & chef, Edna Morales, originally from Santurce & Rincon, learned the art of cooking with "unpoquito here, unpoquito there"' from her grandmothers Mama & Mamita Lucita. having lived on the Florida coast, New York & Atlanta, her family finally settled down & now calls North Carolina home where they invite you to their table. There was a day where you had to "ring the bell" to place your order, now all you have to do is come on in where the TMC family will greet you with a warm...
"Welcome to The Meeting Corner! Have a seat and enjoy!"
