Many people often ask, "So where does the 'Meems' come from?"
It's a nickname I acquired when my little brother couldn't say 'Melissa'. he called me Me-Me and it morphed into Meems and stuck. It's a similar story of how i got here. I have an extensive background as an artist. I began my career as a modern dancer in New York City. I often found myself backstage in costume with a camera in hand. I soon received many requests to photograph dance companies, dancers, and actors. It was not until I started photographing. And ever since, I have been specializing in capturing children and their families in all stages of family life.
My studio is located in Essex County, NJ.
I also shoot on location in NYC and throughout Northern and Central New Jersey.
My work has been exhibited at The National Museum of Dance, The New York Public Libary of the performing Arts, Galapgos Art Space, and Dance Theatre Workshop.
I am also a member of Professional Photographers of America.

Meems Images photographed my son's Bar Mitzvah. Melissa came to our synagogue for a photo shoot and her lovely and humerous dameanor calmed a nervous Bar Mitzvah boy and his parents! At the party she was delightful, rallied all members of a large extended family into formal shots, and then managed to capture the essence of the party.
