Teaching them the proper fundamental mechanics is an essential component to ensure young athletes improve in their performance and prevent injury. Our Fundamental Movement Skills focus on developing: Static Balance, Sprinting Mechanics, Vertical Jump Techniques, Proper Deceleration and Acceleration Techniques, Multi-directional footwork, Coordination and Proper lifts Movement.
Athletic Development Coaching (Age: 9-11) Developmental
This group focuses on building the foundations of athletic development in a fun and positive environment. The curriculum is centered on developing coordination, balance, and body awareness. These components are vital to establishing athletic development, confidence and long term enjoyment in sports and everyday life.
Athletic Development Coaching (Age: 12-14) Varsity
At this stage athletes have a foundation of athletic skills. This program focuses on progressing and maintaining athletic movement while refining and ingraining fundamental skills of speed, power and agility. Strength and power training are introduced with a strong emphasis on proper technique. As an athlete's body changes, the need for improving joint integrity is vital for reducing the chance of injury. This training takes place in small group, 90 minute comprehensive sports performance program that develops young athletes to dominate their sport. This session is focused on quickness & agility development. However other aspects of physical development will also be trained. Attendance is capped at 8 to ensure quality instruction.
Athletic Development Coaching (Age: 15-18) Elite
This stage of our athletic development program is designed as a periodized macrocycle (12 week time period) consisting of 4 different mesocycles (3 week duration). In our mesocycles, we focus on a specific component of strength and movement development: 1. Preparatory 2. Extensive 3. Intensive 4. Power. The reason we do this is to avoid overtraining certain movements, which leads to injuries, and to see consistent gains. During all of our mesocycles we are continuing to incorporate all 8 Pillars of Athleticism into our programming. However, different mesocycles are emphasizing one or two of those components to a greater extent than the others. Our Preparatory and Extensive mesocycles are looking to build hypertrophy in our athletes and give them a base to develop strength (neuromuscular control) while working the mechanics of their movements. The Intensive phase is looking to build strength in our athletes for the goal of improving the strength of the movements during performance. The Power phase is building explosiveness in our athletes (olympic lifting emphasis in the weight room and plyometric emphasis on the movements). Athletes may enroll at any point in the training cycle.
