Life is an amazing gift that gives us the experience of joy, love, excitement and purpose.
Yet, at times we are presented with challenges that inhibit our true selves and inhibit our access to positive experiences.
You will find that I embrace a "strengths-based" view by serving as a witness and validating the truth of your journey.
I use guided imagery, meditation, and other mindfulness/body-mind centered modalities. I create a nurturing/sacred therapeutic space for clients to tap into their unique strengths in order to make positive life changes.
I have extensive experience counseling individuals, children, families and groups.
Specialty areas include working with clients and clients' loved ones dealing with trauma, illness, grief and bereavement, and life transitions. I also specialize in working with individuals recovering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), child abuse, sexual abuse, spousal abuse and other traumatic experiences. At times, I integrate a variety of relaxation techniques into therapy sessions, including guided imagery, meditation, and other mindfulness/body-mind centered modalities. The main goal of my clinical practice is to establish a therapeutic relationship based on trust, caring, openness and practical support as clients navigate complex life challenges.
I understand the importance of finding a therapist who is the right fit for you, and offer a free 30 minute phone or face-to-face consultation prior to beginning therapy.
I also have the great joy of practicing a therapy technique called Brainspotting.
This groundbreaking technique discovered and developed by David Grand, PhD., is a powerful, focused treatment method that works by identifying, processing and releasing core neurophysiological sources of emotional/body pain, trauma, dissociation and a variety of other challenging symptoms. Persons experiencing Brainspotting can look forward to integrating healing on emotional, somatic, psychological, spiritual and physical levels. Brainspotting has proven success when working with high performance athletes, stage, film and TV actors, high net-worth individuals, addiction, and those experiencing loss and grief.

Initially I was drawn to work with Mary Jane because of her holistic approach to counseling, as I was ready to try something new (after several years of traditional, talk therapy). Since working with Mary Jane, I have been moved by and grateful for the experience and the results). Her style and skill set manage to reach long standing patterns and issues on a causal level without the need to relive, or even recount the old story. After years of on again, off again counseling this was a welcome surprise. Each time I left Mary Jane's office, I felt freer, and carried with me the sense that deep and effective transformation had taken place. Most importantly is Mary Jane's presence (in the truest sense of the word). To meet her is to feel heard, welcomed, important and accepted without judgment. She is truly gifted in her ability to create a safe, and healing environment in which her genuine skill, talent and humble nature invite people to surrender to their deep healing. For me, trust was immediate, and I'm certain that this helped to accelerate my own process of surrender and therefore healing. Her (ultra-keen!!!) intuitive and warm approach create an environment in which healing is inevitable. I am blessed to have found this wonderful practitioner! Thank you, Mary Jane!
I went to Mary Jane for treatment involving loss of a loved one due to dementia. She carefully listened to me and had unique insights into how to help me. I felt extremely well cared for. She has tremendous sympathy and understanding. I would highly recommend her to anyone if you need a referral.
