Mangowood, the inspiration of Tan who grew up in Singapore, specializes in taking contemporary American cuisine to new heights by artfully blending local traditional fare with exotic Asian herbs and spices. The food, inventive and fun, is center stage. Duck, Steak, Fish, Chicken, Pork and Pasta are some of the familiar characters. Once dressed and rehearsed, their debut is nothing short of spectacular. An exceptional wine list enhances the cuisine and just when you think there can be no more, out comes the House Signature Sticky Toffee Pudding. As the evening comes to a close, the hushed sounds of "wow" echo throughout.
With the staff in jeans, the atmosphere is relaxed, and the four course prix fixe dinner fare is simply incomparable. The portion sizes are just right but you have the option to order a la carte as well. Vegetarian diners should feel free to call in advance as Chef Tan is happy to put her creative juices in action to accommodate your non-carnivore appetite.
