The Black River offers a scenic playground just waiting to be explored, running through largely undeveloped forest, and populated by numerous sandbars. Along its banks you'll spot magnificent old-growth forest, including canopies of water ash and cat-briar stretching overhead. Elsewhere along the river, you'll also find black gum, tupelo gum, water hickory, American elm, and a variety of oak. Of course, you'll also stand a great chance at seeing a variety of wildlife peeking out at you from amongst these ancient trees. Turkey, deer, bobcat, river otter, black bear are just some of the commonly-spotted animals.
