In 1991, former Minnesota North Star Tom McCarthy transformed the once Clark Gas Station at Hamline and Larpenteur in St. Paul, MN into a fish and chips shack. It is unlikely the hockey great could have foreseen where MAC'S would be all these years later. Now operated by Dan and Tom Flanagan, MAC'S has a newfound dedication to making everything on the menu completely in-house. The fish and cheese curds are hand battered, the shrimp and clam strips are hand breaded, the chips are hand cut, and everything is deep fried and delicious. As if that wasn't enough, a piece of Salt Water Taffy (batch made/pulled daily) comes with every meal.
