In 1968, John and Yolanda Lum opened a small carry-out restaurant called Lotus Heart in Mamaroneck. After four years of hard work and dedication, they were able to move into a larger space around the corner where they opened a full-service eatery that they named Lum Yen (translation: “Lum’s Garden”).
