Welcome to L’Osteria, the place in Boston’s historic North End where you’ll rediscover the authentic flavor of truly great Italian food. Family, friends, neighbors (and strangers, too) have been flocking to L’Osteria for nearly a quarter century,
"And it feels so special," says restaurant owner Lina DiPietrantonio, "greeting so many younger guests with their dinner dates who just a few moments ago it seems were small kids having dinner with their parents."
From the moment they first opened in 1985, proprietors Lina and her husband Nicky have been welcoming a perpetual tide of guests the to their family owned and operated restaurant on fabled Salem Street in the heart of the North End. There they serve some of the finest food of yesteryear – food that our parents and grandparents still talk about - the kind of food that gives new meaning to the word “comfort.” Memorable meals against which others meals will be measured.
L’Osteria offers dishes that you rarely find today on North End menus – dishes like Shrimp Parmigiana made with succulent jumbo shrimp dipped in an egg and breadcrumb batter and sautéed on the stove, then baked in the oven and enfolded in mozzarella cheese and red Marinara sauce. Parmigiana like you’ve never tasted before. Or, there’s the exquisite Paglia e Fieno – fresh spinach and egg pasta in a cream sauce with Prosciuto di Parma, tender peas and wild mushrooms.
L’Osteria is the place that really knows how to serve up a truly wonderful and memorable Italian meal with great food, great service and great fun, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Benvenuti!
