History
LGOST Inc. is a locally owned physical therapy practice in the South Bay town of Los Gatos.
We specialize in outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, pediatric therapy and vestibular rehabilitation. All of our therapists possess advanced clinical skills and subspecialty training in physical rehabilitation.
Our history begins long before the start of this practice in October of 2003.
It began with Bob Nakaji, PT, who settled in the South Bay physical therapy landscape in 1968 to start and direct the physical therapy department at Good Samaritan Hospital (GSH) in San Jose, CA. He founded Athletic Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy Associates, Inc. (ARPTA Inc.) as the contract provider for PT services to GSH. He set out to help treat, grow and educate the profession and other health care professionals about physical therapy. In 1968, he was a staff of one at GSH. By 1990, he had grown to 6 satellite sites throughout the South Bay with over 30 employees. He officially retired in May of 1998.
Bob has touched a lot of people both personally and professionally and has been known for mentoring many of today’s top physical therapists across the country.
It was with this passion and work ethic that inspired his son, Ross, to pursue a career in his father’s footsteps. Over dinner conversation in late 2002 with urging of Dr. Tom Elardo-Bob’s son in law, Bob, Kris and Ross decided to start something new: a unique PT clinic that Ross could treat, Bob could advise and Kris would manage. Our roles today within the practice may be vastly different, but the philosophy and focus on quality care has never changed.
Quality and consistency of care are the cornerstones of our practice.
Everything we do as a company is directed towards developing and fostering these behaviors. Quality means doing things that work. We design programs of care that have been proven to be effective treatment interventions. You can expect individualized, hands on care.
Consistency is achieved because all professional staff use the same evidence based evaluation formats in assessing your condition.
It is the evaluation that guides the treatments chosen for you by the therapist. Further, we understand that two things are required for you to improve. First, patient education is essential. You must understand your condition. Second, the therapist cannot do it all. You must be an active participant in your care.
Our history spans six decades of physical therapy and health care.
It is a philosophy that has stood the test of time and will continue to do so as long as our core values remain intact.
We are a privately owned physical therapy clinic that specializes in orthopedic and sports related injuries. Our team consists of high trained physical therapists with backgrounds in Board Certified Orthopedic Specialization, Athletic Training, Conditioning Specialists and more! Our therapists work one on one with the patient for 1 hour treatments, ensuring the care you receive is of the highest quality in the South Bay.
