The first Los Burritos was on the famous corner of Hollywood and Vine in 1974, the location was approximately 150 square feet. The burrito, a northern Mexican food, was introduced to Hollywood. The burrito and its literal meaning “the little donkey” gave the small Mexican food stand quick name recognition. The novelty of different types of burritos made the menu a popular choice for people going to the movies when the Pantages, the Pacific, the Egyptian were active movie theatre designations. The portable meal became a destination spot for breakfast, lunch and dinner and the enhancement of wet burritos ( burritos with salsas smothered over), burritos suizos ( burritos with cheese) and burritos with a combination of fresh salsas made this small stand a different type of taqueria.
The family has always owned and operated this small successful chain and maintains a constant level of food quality and restaurant cleanliness. There are many choices out there for Mexican food, but we strive to maintain locations where all customers can comfortably sit, bring their families and friends, and still buy a good quality meal for a reasonable price.
