Los Barrios opened in 1979 in a small boat garage in downtown San Antonio. Success quickly followed, and six months later, we moved into an old Dairy Queen just north of downtown. From these humble beginnings, matriarch Viola Barrios built a thriving Mexican restaurant that has been locally and nationally recognized. Los Barrios Restaurant's secret to success is our casero-style cooking. All of our recipes are prepared in the traditional Mexican home-cooking style that has been used for generations of families in Mexico.
