James B Beam Distilling Company of Clermont Kentucky found the post-Second World War market a different place, as sales of aged spirits plummeted in the wake of vodka's surge in popularity. Initially as a seasonal marketing campaign, they partnered with (and later purchased) Regal China company to release limited edition decanters which became massively popular collectors' items throughout the 60's and 70's and were still being released right up to 2010. Filled with 8-16 year old whiskies, these specially designed pieces from a bygone era offer a unique taste of yesteryear in delightful package
Whiskey - Michter's
These Michter's ceramic decanters and jugs offer a rare example of whiskey distilled at the original Michter's distillery in Schaeffers town, PA. Less sought after in its time, the distillery developed a cult status in the years following its closure in 1989 (Since brought back to life as the much sought-after Michter's range now made in Kentucky), especially whiskies from the Jug House – A small still putting out only a barrel per day primarily for tourists, which became prized as rare collector's items, liquid treasure from a lost distillery
