Small Group Classes Info
We keep our mat classes small so everyone gets personal attention (6 students maximum). Classes are 50 minutes in length and appropriate for all levels unless noted otherwise. Students with no prior Pilates experience are strongly encouraged to sign up for our New Client Package : 3 Private Sessions before attending any classes. You'll learn the STOTT PILATES 5 Basic Principles, get a postural assessment and become acquainted with our method to ensure that you get the most out of group sessions. Call us to inquire about setting up an on- or off-site class for your company or fitness-minded friends ("Pilate Girls Night Out", anyone?). We can design custom workouts based on the goals of any group.
Essential Mat (Level 1)
This class reveiws the STOTT PILATESĀ® Basic Principles in more depth and flows at a slower pace. Appropriate for Pilates newbies and anyone wishing to brush up on their Pilates technique.
Intermediate Mat (Level 3)
This class includes both intermediate-level exercises and challenging variations to the essential repertoire. We also pick up the tempo a bit to increase the heart rate. At least 6 months of Pilates experience is recommended, or approval of instructor.
Stretch & Strengthen (Level 2)
We use a stretchy Flex-Band in this class to help lengthen tight muscles and add resistance to Pilates exercises. Emphasis is placed on core and shoulder girdle stability.
Monday Matness (Level 1)
Get your week off to a great start with this all-level class which flows through the STOTT PILATES essential mat repetoire. Each week, we'll incorporate different "toys" to keep you on your toes.
Cardio Core Conditioning (Level 3) - NEW!
This Pilates-inspired circuit training workout is designed to build core strength, improve endurance and rev the metabolism. This is an intermediate level class approriate for students who are currently active and have no injuries or physical limitations.
Total Toning (Level 2) - NEW!
Looking to increase muscle tone or challenge yourself with additional resistance? If so, join us for dynamic Pilates workouts using a combination of weighted props like toning balls, handweights, resistance tubing and/or medicine balls.
About Our Class Levels
Level 1
We recommend that all new clients take at least five Level 1 classes to learn the basic biomechanical principles, develop mind-body awareness and build adequate abdominal strength before moving up to Level 2. Anyone dealing with a recent injury, chronic pain, physical restriction or health condition is encouraged to stick with this level.
Level 2
At the next level, we start to pick up the pace and introduce exercise variations & props to further challenge your core strength, endurance, balance and coordination.
Level 3
Our Level 3 classes are designed for serious Pilates practitioners, athletes and anyone interested in getting a more vigorous mind-body workout. A solid foundation of core strength, balance, coordination and stamina is expected.
