This level goes beyond describing physical objects and subjects, and focuses on expressing one's daily activity, habits, states of mind, likes and dislikes, agreement or disagreement. To this end, a lot of new verbs (in the present tense) and adjectives are included.
Spanish 1.1 - Beginner
This introductory Spanish course is for those of you who have no knowledge of the language yet. Learn Spanish New York's classes are always taught by native Spanish speaking tutors from around the world who will enrich your learning experience well beyond that of the class content and into the Spanish language culture.
At this level Students will expand on past tenses, express an action that took place at a specific time in the past, speak about an action that occurred only once in the past, describe the circumstances under which an event took place, express a past event prior to another past event. And write biographies.
This course covers plenty of vocabulary and it focuses on the learning and practice of descriptive terms that will take your spanish speaking to the next level. Topics include: Numbers pronunciation and spellingObjects names pertaining to an office a home and or a location (from table, to pen through washing machine, printer, stationary and kitchen items).Descriptive terms applied to location: past the post office, two blocks away, etc.Descriptive terms applied to an object's location: to the side of, right next to, near etc.Secondly and most importantly, this course covers the uses and differences of the verbs "Ser" and "Estar". Those will be clarified, and you'll feel pretty much more confident on the next level.
At this level Students will work on expressing desire and future intentions and plans, speaking about interpersonal relations, and using verbs that express states of mind and verbs with a preposition (alegrarse de, estar harto de). Additionally the verb "ser" will be combined with qualities and weaknesses.
