New: Organic Seven Grain Bread
from the caprice oven, a, organic variation on our popular seven grain loaf. made with organic grains and organic flour, it is as always free of all preservatives and dairy free.
nothing puts a bigger smile on our faces than when customers ask for the kobra bread! named after the chef’s mother and our favorite grandmother who touched all of our lives in innumerable ways, the kobra is a wonderful little piece of gently sweetened bread, made with pure and wholesome ingredients: flour, ginger, sugar, vegetable oil, milk, with sesame seeds on top. much of chef manijeh’s vast menu comes from her professional training, but there is always a taste of her mother in every sweet bit that comes out of our kitchen.
our freshly baked loaves of olive bread contain rosemary and black olives. it is an excellent choice accompanying any meal, but it is delightful by itself or gently buttered as a snack.
brioche is a gently sweetened bread, close to our viennoiserie. we offer individual brioche mini loaves, as well as full loaves.
our baguettes have been immensely – and we think rightly so! – popular! we make at least two batches of baguettes every day. by customers’ requests, on weekends and on busy days, we announce on twitter and facebook when our baguettes are out of the oven. while we cannot speak to other baguettes and breads made in the us, the traditional french baguettes are by design vegan-friendly. if you cannot make it on time, just call us and we will set aside a baguette for you to pick up on your way home.
Rose Petals In Butter-cream
our wedding cakes are always with butter-cream, simple and classic. our chefs however do the most amazing things with butter-cream, rarely thought of as “decor” material. these rose petals were quite stunning, if you don’t mind our saying so.
Vegan Carrot Cake
our carrot cake has been very popular but we have received a lot of demand for vegan equivalent. from le caprice chef, we are happy to introduce caprice vegan carrot cake. ingredients: carrot, walnut, raisin, apple sauce, veggie oil

we’re pleased to introduce mini caprice buchette: praline, almond paste, chocolate and dipped in ganache.
La Galette Des Rois – Epiphany King Cake
in france, days leading to and after epiphany are traditionally celebrated in with a “king cake,” a flaky, puff pastry cake usually filled with frangipane or sliced fruits, such as apple. traditionally a “fève” (originally a fava bean) is hidden somewhere in the cake. the person whose cake slice contains the fève is crowned as the king. parents often cheat to make sure a little one receives the crown. at le caprice, “galettes” contain a little almond! and the larger cakes come with the golden cardboard crown we actually import from france!
today, our chef presented our first caprice cupcakes: the lily and the chloe. the lily is a chocolate cake, with ganache, raspberry jam, topped with hot pink raspberry mousse. the chloe is a vanilla cake, ganache, caramel, and butter-cream icing.

we love tea! and we have at least 26 types between two top brands to prove our love.
Coffee And Tea
we have a full selection of coffee, tea, and espresso drinks. our coffee comes from a local roaster, swing coffee. swing has served the dc area since 1916 and we are proud to serve their freshly roasted beans to our customers. we also purchased the unic stella espresso machine, one of the few in the country and the only one in the dc region. the stella allows our baristas to pull espresso shots with extreme temperature control and precision. as you can tell by the latte art, our baristas are enjoying this wonderful machine!
in our daily good eats menu, we provide at least two types of quiches. every day, we have at least one veggie quiche and a quiche lorraine, both made with fresh ingredients. they make great lunches or light dinners. we can of course warm them up for you on the spot, if asked.
a great classic, our chef offers our customers croque monsieurs every single day. a croque monsieur is a french sandwich, with either ham or turkey, melted cheese, two slices of bread, held together with our very own béchamel sauce.
among our favorite good eats is the traditional baguette sandwich, made of a half freshly made baguette, lightly buttered, with ham and cheese.
by popular demand, we now bring you freshly made focaccia every day. we offer unique flavors, such as green olive and sun dried tomatoes.

Honey Almond Square
another caprice special is the honey almond square. it is made with cream, butter, almond, and honey. it has a slightly crusty top with a soft bottom. it is a sweet petit four to go along with your coffee.
