Q & A
What is Laser Hair Removal?
Laser Hair Removal is a non-invasive, effective solution for removing unwanted facial and body hair. It works by emitting a gentle beam of light, which passes through the skin to the hair follicle where it is absorbed by the pigment in your hair. The laser energy is transformed into heat that targets and destroys the hair follicle leaving the surrounding skin unaffected. The skin is protected during treatment by a cooling device that cools the upper layers of the skin and provides patients with increased comfort
Am I a good candidate for Laser Hair Removal?
Lapiel prides itself on being able to safely and effectively treat every skin type. The overall effectiveness of laser hair removal is dependent on a combination of several factors such hair and skin type. Those who suffer from ingrown hair, bikini bumps and razor burn are the ideal candidates for Laser Hair Removal. Your practitioner will best be able to develop a specific treatment plan for you when you come in for a free consultation
What areas can be treated with Laser Hair Removal?
Any area of the body where you have unwanted hair may be treated. We are Brazilian bikini specialists and pride ourselves in being able to treat even the most sensitive of areas
Does Laser Hair Removal hurt?
Some patients may feel a slight discomfort with each laser pulse, sometimes described as the snapping of a rubber band on the skin. This discomfort resolves in seconds and can be minimized by the use of a topical anesthetic. Your practitioner will explain your pre-treatment options at the time of your consultation
How many Laser Hair Removal treatment sessions will I need?
There are a number of factors that can affect the success of a series of laser hair removal sessions. On average most people will require anywhere from 6-8 sessions depending on the area of the body. Your practitioner will best be able to advise you on the number of sessions once having assessed the area
How do I prepare for my treatment?
Please shave the area to be treated the day before or day of your treatment. If you are being treated for the face and are not currently shaving this area, you may come in as is. Avoid plucking or waxing for a minimum of 1-2 weeks before your visit. Please inform your provider if you are taking any medications, are pregnant or breastfeeding. We ask that you refrain from tanning prior to your visit
Is Laser Hair Removal permanent?
To date there is no laser hair removal system that will permanently reduce all your unwanted hair. The treatment is considered to be permanent hair reduction. It is important to note that some hair will grow back; however the hair that does grow back will be a reduced amount and finer in texture. Most patients see a reduction of 70%-95% after completing a series of treatments. Yearly touch up treatments may be needed to maintain results
What machines do you use?
We are proud to be able to offer our clients the latest in laser hair removal technology. In order to do this, we use both the Candela GentleMAX and Lumenis LightSheer Desire Lasers. GentleMAX by Candela is the Gold Standard for Laser Hair Removal in all Fitzpatrick skin types. It is a dual wavelength laser platform that combines the fastest and most powerful 755 nm Alexandrite laser with an equally powerful 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for high performance treatment capabilities in terms of speed, efficacy, ease-of-use, performance, safety and patient satisfaction. Lightsheer Desire is new generation of Laser Hair Reduction system from the Lumenis Family of products. It uses a versatile 805nm diode laser and ChillTip™ Technology to provide contact cooling for maximum epidermal protection and precision

Join the millions of men & women who have made Botox the most popular aesthetic treatment of it's kind.
Botox Price Per Unit
Q & A
Am I a good candidate for Botox?
Botox is the most well-known and trusted non-surgical FDA-approved treatment for the treatment of deep, persistent, horizontal lines on the forehead*, frown between the eyebrows, and pesky crows' feet at the corners of the eyes. Used preventatively, Botox can help relax or "retrain" facial muscles that cause fine lines before they have a chance to settle into the skin, causing deeper wrinkles to form. You will simply appeared refreshed. Botox is not recommended for those guests who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
What is Botox® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe facial lines. It is produced from clostridium botulinum bacterium, a natural, purified protein that attaches to nerve endings. This process blocks the neurotransmitter signals that trigger muscle contractions that cause fine lines and wrinkles giving the face a relaxed, more youthful appearance
How Does Botox® Work?
BOTOX® Cosmetic targets one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow's feet-the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. The Nurse Practitioner will inject these muscles with BOTOX® Cosmetic to temporarily reduce muscle activity. You will begin to notice a visible smoothing of your crow's feet lines and frown lines between your brows. One treatment of a few tiny injections relaxes the muscles that cause facial lines to form
Are There any Side Effects?
Botox® Cosmetic is widely considered one of the safest cosmetic procedures available. More than 11 million Botox® Cosmetic procedures have been administered in the United States since 2002. While most people will experience no side effects from a Botox® injection, some possible side effects may include bruising, swelling, nausea, headaches, and muscle weakness. In some cases, first time patients may experience a slight headache for up to a week following the initial treatment. This is completely normal and will diminish over time. Although the majority of side effects are rare and temporary we always recommend consulting with your provider with any questions or concerns. For a complete list of potential side effects, please visit the Botox® Cosmetic website
How much does Botox Cost?
Each unit of Botox is $14. The exact number of units necessary will depend on multiple factors such as wrinkle depth, skin type and desired results. On average, our guests require between 20-40 units to achieve their desired results. Prior to any Botox® Cosmetic treatment, you will receive a complimentary consultation to assess your treatment goals, answer all of your questions and determine if you can successfully be treated with Botox®. After examining your skin, our Nurse Practitioner will assess your muscle movement by asking you to frown or smile. Based on your muscle movement, your practitioner will advise you on approximately how many units of Botox® will be needed to achieve your desired goal
What Can I Expect During Botox® Treatment?
After determining your treatment goals, our Nurse Practitioner will inject Botox® Cosmetic via a very fine needle into the muscle. The entire procedure typically takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Most patients are in and out of the office without downtime following their treatment
Will My Facial Expressions Continue to Look Natural?
Although the results are visible, a treatment with Botox® Cosmetic will not radically change your facial appearance or make you look as if you "had work done." The muscle activity that causes frown lines between the brows or the creases in your forehead is simply reduced, so you can still frown or look surprised-minus the wrinkles and creases
How Can I Save On My Botox Treatment?
Lapiel is pleased to participate in the Allergan Brilliant Distinctions program. With Brilliant Distinctions® you can earn points with each treatment which you can redeem for at least $20 in instant cash off at your next treatment. Get ready to reveal smoother, tighter and more vibrant skin. Take your Skin Care to the next level with Laser Skin Rejuvenation using the Candela GentleMAX.
Facial Photo Rejuvenation
Ideal for treating sun damage and hyperpigmentation
Facial Skin Tightening
Treats sagging skin by stimulating collagen production and tightening pores
Q & A
Am I a good candidate?
Laser Skin Rejuvenation is ideal for anyone looking to quickly and effectively improve the overall tone and texture of their skin. The Photo Rejuvenation component specifically targets sun damaged and hyper-pigmented areas on the surfaces of the skin. The Skin Tightening treatment focuses on the middle layer of skin called the dermis, to stimulate cell turnover, increasing both collagen and elastin. Your skin will look younger, brighter and firmer. At the time of your free consultation the Nurse Practitioner will evaluate your skin and access your goals to choose the appropriate treatment plan for you. Laser Skin Rejuvenation treatments are best scheduled in the fall/winter when you are not in direct sun
How does Laser Skin Rejuvenation work?
Different lasers do different things. Which is why we offer two laser treatment options with the Candela GentleMAX. Both treatments utilize the skin's natural ability to regenerate itself by stimulating different layers of the dermis. Photo Rejuvenation works to correct sun spots/damage by concentrating the laser on the darker areas of the skin, bringing them to the surface until they eventually slough off. Whereas Skin Tightening delivers a controlled amount of therapeutic heat into the lower dermis in order to spark collagen remodeling and contracting to lift the skin
Is there any downtime?
Yes, Laser Skin Rejuvenation is meant to deeply penetrate the dermis to promote collagen remodeling and bring hyperpigmented spots to the surface. Some patients experience some flaking, redness or swelling for up to 7 days post treatment. This is normal and will resolve itself. Should your treatment result in any scabbing, do not pick them. You may apply Vaseline or a heavy moisturizer to the area twice daily. You may treat any discomfort with an over the counter pain reliever. It is important to avoid sun exposure, using an SPF of 30 or higher, to maintain your results. It may take up to four weeks to see results
Does Laser Skin Rejuvenation hurt?
It can. When being treated for Sun Spot Removal/Photo Rejuvenation the sensation is likened to that of a rubber band being snapped against the skin, causing a momentary but tolerable amount of pain
How much does Laser Skin Rejuvenation cost?
$375 for 1 treatment of the face; $900 for 3 treatments of the face; Pricing for other areas available upon request
How does Laser Skin Rejuvenation compare to treatments like IPL and Fraxel?
Unlike IPL and Fraxel treatments, our Photo Rejuvenation and Skin Tightening treatments offer superior results with fewer treatments and less downtime. IPL treatments, or as they are more commonly called, Photofacials, are not actual Laser treatments. Fraxel treatments tend to be more painful and have much more downtime than Laser Skin Rejuvenation. See how our treatments can be more effective, less painful and the most cost effective way of improving your skin!

How do I prepare?

Are there any side effects?
The best part about a SilkPeel treatment is that there is no downtime! The skin may appear slightly red immediately after treatment but will calm down soon after. In some cases, your skin may break out. This is normal! You skin is simply purging after some much need exfoliation and is all part of the improvement process
Does it hurt?
No! Many of our clients compare the experience to a cat licking your face. Odd, but it fits. If you should feel at all uncomfortable during your treatment simply ask your esthetician to adjust your settings!
How many treatments do I need?
The number of treatments you may need will vary depending your specific skin condition. Typically we recommend 3-6 treatments every 3-4 weeks for best results. After your initial series, many people schedule a SilkPeel at the onset of each new season to maintain their results!
When should I schedule my treatment?
We recommend scheduling your visit one week prior to a big event for bright, clear, polished skin. A popular treatment for both Brides and Grooms alike, we recommend establishing a Skin Care Regimen with your Esthetician 3-6 months prior to your big day!
What is the difference between SilkPeel Dermalinfusion and Microdermabrasion?
While both Dermalinfusion and Microdermabrasion remove a portion of the upper layer of the skin, , the Dermalinfusion treatment is much more controlled and consistent in the way it operates. That is because, rather than blasting particles at skin (as with older microdermabrasion devices), or pushing an abrasive tip across the skin by hand, Dermalinfusion uses the controlled vacuum pressure to pull the skin up into a chamber in the hand piece, where it is evenly abraded just as aggressively or as softly as the vacuum pressure is set by the skincare professional. This is significant, because all other devices rely on the operator to apply the same pressure, at the same speed, consistently over the skin. With SilkPeel treatment, that same controlled vacuum pressure that is used to pull the skin into the chamber, allowing the diamond abrasive tip to very consistently remove top layer of skin is also driving a condition-specific topical solution deep into the skin, right down to the dermal junction where the skin cells are regenerating
What is the difference between Silkpeel Dermalinfusion and a Hydrafracial?
Both treatments exfoliate and deposit skin specific serums into the skin. What sets Silkpeel apart is its patented diamond tip hand piece that allows for a deeper exfoliation. The hand piece on the Silkpeel is smaller than the Hydrafacial which allows it to treat smaller areas like the nose and lips. Unlike the Hydreafacial, the Silkpeel hand piece glides along the face using vacuum pressure do the work at the level you set. While the skin is pulled up into the chamber, the pores stretched open, and the stratum corneum is being stripped away – at that moment the pneumatic pressure is able to force a much greater penetration of the active ingredients into the skin
Chicago Chemical Peels
Glytone Enerpeel® Chemical Peels use unique acid solutions to deliver ingredients into the skin for long term improvement while gently accelerating the exfoliation process for a more even and radiant complexion. Whether you are looking to take preventative actions against premature aging, dealing with acne, redness or simply want to improve the overall appearance of your skin, we offer the perfect peel for you. What sets Glytone Peels apart is their ability to improve the skin's appearance gently, with less of the downtime and surface trauma associated with more traditional peel systems. Let us help you reveal the glowing skin you've always wanted!
Glytone Chemical Peel

Purchase a package of three treatments and save over $75
Q & A
Am I a good candidate for a Chemical Peel?
Chemical peels are perfect for anyone looking to dramatically improve the look and feel of their skin. Peels can help improve tone, texture, pigment and promote collagen production, all while gently exfoliating the skin. If you are preparing for a big event such as a wedding or reunion, we recommend starting 6 months before your event to ensure optimal results. Treatments take as little as 20 minutes and leave your skin looking dewy and glowing: Perfect for a lunchtime break. Schedule your free consultation and discuss your options with our Esthetician! Please inform your esthetician if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or on any medications
Which areas can be treated?
Chemicals peels are typically used on the face. However we do offer peels for the back, chest, neck, legs and hand areas!
Does it hurt?
The process can tingle a little! Most of our clients say that the alcohol prep pad is often worse than the peel itself. We always recommend that you communicate with your esthetician so that she can best ensure your comfort. You may also experience a mild tingling, itching or heating sensation. These are completely normal and temporary
Will my skin look "raw"?
Not at all! This is the most common question we get here at the office. Lucky for us, peels have come a long way! Glytone Peels in particular, are known for achieving the same results as traditional "deep" peels with little to no downtime
How do I prepare?
Please come in 15 minutes early for your first appointment as you will have paperwork. Discontinue use of any product containing Retinol, AHAs, BHAs, or Benzol Peroxide 1 week prior to your visit. If you have used an oral retinoid like Accutane, please wait 6-12 months before commencing peels. Do not wax, laser or tan the area 10-15 days prior to your treatment. Avoid strenuous exercise, hot tubs, steam & saunas before and immediately after your treatment. You should also avoid any sun exposure 48-72 prior to your visit
What can I expect Post Treatment?
Every peel will cause some degree of flaking or peeling with varying amounts of redness post procedure. The degree and duration of flaking, peeling and redness depend on the strength of the acid and hydration of the skin. The peeling process usually starts on day three and appears very similar to dry skin and can last 7-14 days. We recommend a heavy moisturizer and an SPF of at least 30 for daytime. Wait a minimum of 6 hours after your treatment before exposing the area to water of any kind. DO NOT rub or scratch the treated areas. DO NOT pull your skin to facilitate the peeling. Avoid any products containing retinoids and other drying agents. DO NOT use a scrub or other exfoliant for 7 days post treatment. The peeling process can take anywhere from 3-7 days and can be covered with makeup. You will not, however, look like a snake! In fact, some areas may not even peel, this does not mean your peel will not achieve the optimal results. Your skin may feel tighter and look more radiant
How many will I need?
We recommend a package of 3-4 treatments to jump-start your skin. Typically treatments are scheduled every 2-6 weeks during your initial package and then done quarterly or seasonally to maintain your results
How do I maintain my results?
We always say your treatments are only as good as your home care. We recommend following your peel with a customized at home regimen. Be sure to be sunwise and apply (& reapply!) your SPF daily. Let our esthetician help you choose the right products for your skin
